"This isn't the first time Trump has proposed sprawling tariffs on imports, and it's something that economists everywhere think is an incredibly foolish plan. Such a steep tariff hike would lead to absurd price increases on good working families everywhere, especially on avocados, beer, and alcohol"all significant imports from Mexico.
Trump has heard this all before but shrugs it off because he believes that the tariffs will force companies to return to the U.S.
This is far from Trump's most ridiculous take on tariffs. Just weeks ago he stated to Bloomberg's John Micklethwait that he wanted "a 100, 200, 2,000 percent tariff" on imports. "The higher the tariff, the more likely it is that the company will come into the United States."
But Mexico is America's number one trading partner. And his latest proposal to increase tariffs whenever he feels like it reveals how little he understands about the impacts here."

Raise prices on the Cult's beer?
That might be where they finally draw the line!

Mexico will pay for it. What, again, like Der Mauer? Like that? My dog understands basic economics better than El Lunatico Naranjo.

I'm going to immediately impose a 25 percent tariff on everything they send in to the United States of America.
Does that include his Troth Social programming?
This pendejo is mentally ill.

Point? Fairly obviously an insult to the tRump cult following.
Merely being an a..hole, had lots of lessons from all sides since I've been observing this site.
"Them" - tRump cult members, also fairly obvious.
Unless maybe you feel I've included you, but that's pretty stupid.
I don't think you're that stupid, but I've been wrong about a fair number of people over the years.
Wait - are you actually an AI or a shared account maybe?
Doesn't matter either way, your reactionary comment to what I posted smells and looks like HELIUMRAT.

Yeah, I didn't see it as "fairly obvious."

Yeah, I had come to that conclusion.
Good to see you confirm it.
In some respects, I do enjoy your, I'll say, different views on the issues.
For now, I'll leave it at that.

If your current alias (as it seems to admit) wants to look odd on this site, it will have to try a whole lot harder.
I mean, your #14 is not even scratching the surface.

This is where extremism comes in to play and liberals aren't innocent of it either. A good idea quickly goes bad when someone goes too far. First off, immigration from Mexicans has been very low and, in some cases, negative for the last 10 years. It's immigrants from other countries going through Mexico who are the problem. That being said, investing in Mexico is what America should be doing instead of outsourcing to Poland, Malaysia, and all the other countries not named India. We need India purely from a defensive standpoint. But Mexico is the perfect opportunity to change a bad situation to something better. If we prop up Mexico's economy, less want to come here. The more prosperous Mexico is, the better off we are. And, in a purely personal viewpoint just by sheer proximity, most people in American can understand Spanglish than they can broken English from far away countries. When I work with some Mexican counterparts, I don't nearly the language barrier I do with others.
But, Trump can't help himself from going to extremes on immigration because it hurts his and his rich friend's pocketbooks who have millions of dollars invested in those other countries.
