Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, January 02, 2025

Democracy dies in deception. There were two presidential campaigns in 2024: one between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, and then one between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. The first began to end, and the second began to take shape, during the Trump-Biden debate held on June 27. The story of that debate was President Biden, who looked and sounded dreadful. His performance confirmed Democrats' worst fears and Republicans' best argument: Joe Biden, born 11 months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, was too old and cognitively diminished to discharge his presidential duties now, much less over the course of a second term that would last beyond his 86th birthday.

At least this op-ed is only 5,500 words.

@#1 ... Another deflection thread away from Trump by Jeff. ...

That seems to be all he's got in his virtual quiver.

I guess BullBringer is hoping somehow Biden will replace Trump as worst president in history.

Unfortunately for him. Trump owns that title.

Objectively, by any measure, Biden was better for America than Trump.

Republicans are about to at least try to Certify a 3 Time Adjudicated Insurrectionist as President, so naturally Jeffy, Belle of the South, is totally concerned about the last President's cognitive condition.

I bet he's a real Ms Lindsey type in person.

Unfortunately for him. Trump owns that title.

It would be so easy for Lewzer to turn that around in 4 years. Unfortunately he's an ignorant, vindictive ------- surrounded by lunatics, so he won't.

@#6 ... It would be so easy for Lewzer to turn that around in 4 years. ...

Yup. So easy.

Time will tell, though, whether he accomplishes that, or even wants to accomplish that.

Gazing into my crystal ball, I forecast many discussions ahead.

In a thread about Biden's obvious mental decline and those who covered it up including the MSM and all this site's comments are about Trump.

@#8 ... In a thread about Biden's obvious mental decline and those who covered it up including the MSM ...

I would disagree with that assertion.

... all this site's comments are about Trump. ...

Your current alias does not see a similar decline in Pres-elect Trump's behavior? I am in the NYC media area, so I have seen [citizen] Trump since the late 80's on TV. Compared to then, his current status seems to me to be quite detoriated.

Pres Biden bowed out of the race for President because of the issues mentioned in your current alias' summary.

And Pres-elect Trump is the best that the GOP could come up with in response?

I mean, Pres-elect Trump should have bowed out for similar reasons.

So, yeah, I will talk about Pres-elect Trump in this thread.

With a main question behind my comments ....

Why?

#9 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-01-02 08:53 PM | Reply

...all this site's comments are about Trump.

Incorrect. Unsurprising.

We had four years of a rudderless executive. It was hidden by Biden's inner circle along with the MSM. We could all see it but it was deemed a conspiracy theory, cheap fakes, ageism, etc.

It's a huge scandal.

- It's a huge scandal.

Yeah! It's a bigger scandal than your Party about to at least try to Certify a 3 Time Adjudicated Insurrectionist as President.

It's like you are talking about a pee stream compared to Niagara Falls... no one can hear your tiny little whines about the past when that's our future, thanks to people like you.

You're a fkkking joke.

@#11 ... We had four years of a rudderless executive. ...

Did we?

The Chips and Science Act.

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

The latter took significant negotiations between Pres Biden and Congress to pass.

And, also, the results of the latter will not become evident for years. Infrastructure project, while critically important, do not happen overnight. They take years.

So two or three years from now, when the results of Pres Biden's Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act become apparent, will then Pres Trump take credit for those results of the Act that Pres Biden fought to pass?

... and do I have to mention ... how many "Infrastructure Weeks" did Pres-elect Trump declare in his first term, with nothing, absolutely nothing, to show from that hype?

The problem BullBringer faces is, his cult of deplorable trumping magats spent 6 months hiding a dementia ridden congresswoman.

So he's doing his best damage control.

Unfortunately for him, America has done better in the past four years under Biden than it did under Trump.

Nah.

imo, the problem that current alias faces seems to be that it likes responses to its comments.

a.k.a. a troll?

"It was hidden by Biden's inner circle along with the MSM"

We all saw Biden's challenges throughout his term.

It worsened and came to a critical point during the debate.

The mistake was waiting too long to find another candidate to defeat trump.

The real mistake was Republican Leadership in Congress being too weak of mind and character to vote to Impeach the -------.

But, contrary to what supposedly anti-Est Trumpers 'think' , they LOVE them some Trump to keep the Oligarchs bribes flowing to them AND keep the marks conned into voting for him.

... and how did Pres-elect Trump perform in the debate with VP Harris? Quite poorly, from what I saw.

... The mistake was waiting too long to find another candidate to defeat trump. ...

On that, I am of two opinions.

One agrees.

But then another side of me asks, could any DNC candidate defeat Pres-elect Trump?

I really can't say but I choose to believe it was possible.

Both assertions can be true

Anything is possible.

But likely?

Well, that is a different story.

The GOP exaggeration of Pres Biden's poor performance vs the same GOP ignorance of then candidate Trump's poor performance in debates is curious to me.

And how many times since that debate has Pres-elect Trump had, let's call it, a memory lapse?

Shall we start a thread to fact-check what Pres-elect Trump says?

" I thought Obama was running the show?"

I suspect he may have been setting some of the policies. That's one of the points of the linked essay - we don't really know who was in charge and our media have made almost no effort to try and find out.

@#27 ... That's one of the points of the linked essay ...

"essay" Hardly.

I've read essays.

That pile of cherry-picked book-excerpt phlegm your current trolling alias coughed up to seems to be little more than a hit job, as seems to be the case for the many OpEds your trolling current alias seems to link to.

Of course. that aspect may tend to raise a question ...

Does your current trolling alias seem to have the ability to distinguish the difference between facts and the MAGA alternate reality?

So far, I am not convinced it does.

Biden was a dud before he was elected POTUS. He's been in cognitive decline ever since he was elected and no one inside his administration wanted to admit it. The world watched as he fell up stairs, fell down stairs fell of his bike, fell on stages, read "end of text" off his teleprompter and lost his train of thought in speeches many times. He called on dead people at events while speaking, and all the while the moron brigade said he had a stutter as an excuse. The democrats have no one to blame but themselves for the mess. They rode a limping horse until it collapsed and shoved Harris on the people as a backup plan without any choice to the voters.

You clowns can sit here and point the finger at Trump all you want but he didn't do that. Your party actually made it easy for Trump - and I'm being nice.

It's always so nice seeing all the Pro-Pedophile Supporters on here refuse talk negatively about Donald Trump.

Child Brides for everyone! Right, Shrimp? LftHandTurds? Jeff?

These guys are libertarians. You know, the political group who can only agree on one thing: ditching the age of consent.

Sure, Trump's mental decline means he can't remember his wife's name, forgets where he has, has no clue what's going on, and lies constantly. BUT he wants to let them bang underage girls just like he did!

(And we won't mention Consent for any age is no longer required in the Age of Trump)

I have no problem talking negatively about him because he has a lot of negatives. This thread isn't about Trump. I have no idea why lefties seem mostly incapable of staying on topic. It's not difficult.

Huh? I have criticized Trump - right here on this site. You just refuse to respect anyone's opinion unless they fall in line with the totalitarian regime you follow.

Not only is everything in my #29 true, I didn't even delve into the diary of abuse claims, Biden's denial of his own grandchild and his son's total failure as a husband, father and being an overall decent person - I guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.

You might want to sit this one out, Scooter...
