Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, March 28, 2025

China has developed a compact deep-sea device capable of cutting armored undersea cables at depths of 4,000 meters -- twice the operational depth of existing subsea communication infrastructure. The tool, featuring a 150-mm diamond-coated grinding wheel spinning at 1,600 rpm, was designed for integration with China's advanced submersibles. The development has raised concerns over the security of global undersea infrastructure, as such cables carry 95% of global data transmission and support critical military and civilian operations. Beijing has already cut cables to Taiwan and is constructing large 'D-Day' type amphibious landing craft.

China is not only a threat to the West in outer space, but they are becoming a maritime menace as well. Meanwhile, the GOP US national security team is cutting USIC personnel and squandering resources on Islamophobic misadventures in the Middle East, led by Dotard Trumpf and SECDEF Pete Hellsbreath.

Trump will be happy to cede Taiwan to China in exchange for Panda Express's recipe for orange chicken. Which he assumes was named after himself.

The five signs China is preparing to invade Taiwan (January 2025)
www.yahoo.com

... With a new and unpredictable US president in the Oval Office and increased signs of China's belligerence in the Taiwan Strait, fears are growing that Beijing is accelerating plans to invade Taiwan, the island democracy that the Communist superpower regards as a renegade province.

Alarm bells rang on Wednesday with news that undersea cables connecting Taiwan with the Matsu Islands had been damaged. Taiwanese authorities said the incident may have resulted from natural decay. But already this month, Taiwanese authorities said a Chinese-owned vessel had damaged an undersea internet cable to the north-east of the island, even as Beijing's jets and warships continue to circle the island of 23 million people.

US intelligence suggests Xi Jinping has instructed his military to be prepared to make a move by 2027. And Xi, the most powerful Chinese leader since Mao Zedong, views retaking Taiwan as part of his political destiny. As such, many observers think it is a question of "when" not "if" he makes his move.

Here are the five signs that suggest China might be preparing to make a move on the island: ...

#2: Hi Lamplighter: Concur, the time for any despotic ruler to attack another country would be during the abhorrent 2025-2029 Trumpf regime. And China has been observing which military tactics and technology works in Ukraine. Beijing built up global goodwill outside of Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines, so they won't be diplomatically isolated. Taiwan is quite vulnerable.

Note the huge landing craft China is constructing serves a dual purpose. Analysts used the term "D-Day type", but they are also "Inchon-type": news.bbc.co.uk

At one point (I don't know when), Beijing is going to tire of the lunatic Kim Jong-un dynasty at their border with an ever-increasing nuclear stockpile.

In the movie Leave the World Behind there were some great scenes where everything stopped working and no one knew what was going on and suddenly computer controlled things like teslas and huge ocean tankers and airplanes went crazy and started crashing into each other and things.

The part that really stuck home with me was that most people could not figure out what the hell was going on until days after the initial attack because there was no way for anyone to communicate with each other. Everyone just thought it was a power outage in their local area.

Thanks DB-I'll look that one up tonight. I read Hal Lindsay's Late Great Planet Earth when I was in my 20's @ 1973-74, twice. Damn near everything he predicted has occurred. The end game (if I remember it correctly from that far back) is an alliance between Russia and China attacking the Middle East, but I'd guess that could include Europe as well. I sure as hell hope he's wrong, as we have enough military bases around here that one of them has to be a nuke's target. At 74, I'd rather not die from being barbecued!
