Trump Owes $87K Daily Interest on Fraud Penalties

When most New Yorkers wake up, they might splurge by spending a few bucks on coffee and a bagel. Every morning Donald Trump wakes up, he now owes another $87,500 in interest on the massive legal penalties he received last week.

Trump would owe none of that had he followed the law. Instead he chose to break it, bend it, and cheat where he could. Now that he's been caught finally doing what he's done all his life and got away with, it don't sit so well.

He made his troubles the hard way, he earned them.

Trump claimed to be worth $9 billion before turning the presidency into a personal ATM machine. Surely he can pay this debt and move on with his life, no?

Imagine you have a liquid net worth of $100k. Even if Trump's net worth stayed at his stated $9B, his judgment would be the equivalent of a $3,900 fine to you. It would sting but you'd have no problem paying it.

Trump wouldn't be a broke ass liar, would he?

Letitia James is not one to let Trump slide through any cracks. She'd be remiss if she didn't already have the paperwork ready for the fire sale.

Judge Engoron didn't give Trump much time to pony up the money for the appeal. Trump's attorneys have already requested an additional 30 days, claiming that the D.A.'s office seem to be in an "unseemly rush." (their words)

D.A. Letitia James says, no dice, the debate is over. She doesn't want to give Trump any wiggle room. Can't say that I blame her. It's been a long, hard slog.

Trump has been refinancing debt to get better rates and to pay other debt. This judgement will make it more difficult for him to refinance his debt. Will he find some bank out side of NY to lend him money? If he does find a willing lender, it will be at high rates of interest with plenty of collateral at stake.

They were on notice that in excess of $350 Million was coming for MONTHS now.

They had plenty of time to plan for this.

If he's like any other developer that I know, he's leveraged up to his caterpillaresq eyebrows. I doubt he has the appreciated value to make it happen.

Now just have to see how many strings Putin can pull to get a Chinese or Russian bank to loan him the money.

The only thing Trump might, maybe, possibly win on appeal is the amount of the award if he can find a way to challenge the D.A.'s arithmetic ~ which is pretty much carved in stone.

I think we all know Trump is just trying to buy time while he tried to figure out how to slip out of the noose.

Good thing Lititia James doesn't have a boyfriend working in her office.

Of course they did. Now Trump needs time to figure out how to weasel his way out of it. His lawyers have already petitioned Judge Engoron for an extra 30 days. Maybe they should have thought about that before Trump started calling the judge a lunatic.

If Trump find the money to finance an appeal, he's going to need a whopper of a lie bigger than the one he's trying to use on Fani Willis in Georgia.

His reputation precedes him.

BTW, one of the ways Trump is trying to slip the noose is to move the business address of Trump Org to Florida and, at the same time, allow his "executives" to operate out of his office in Trump Tower.

D.A. Letitia has asked Judge Engoron to block such a move.
