The International Court of Justice (ICJ) began hearings into Israel's genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT). The ICJ, which sits in The Hague and is the UN's top court, is expected to hear from 40 States and four international organizations in proceedings slated to last all week. Link: www.icj-cij.org The head of OCHA testified: "Today people are not surviving in Gaza, those that aren't being killed with bombs and bullets are slowly dying." Charges against Israel for apartheid were previously filed against Israel at the ICJ. An international arrest warrant issued by the ICC remains active for PM Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes. An indictment is merely an accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. |
