Fortunately for America, we were blue that year; the opposite of the red Republican America Firsters back then, who welcomed the totalitarian Right Nazis with all their hearts.

"Totalitarianism, often associated with the far-right, is a political system where the state exerts absolute control over all aspects of citizens' lives, suppressing individual freedoms and dissent.

Key characteristics include a cult of personality around the leader, censorship, and widespread surveillance. Examples include Nazi Germany and other right-wing dictatorships like Fascist Italy and the Chilean Junta. "

Looks like Trump's highest approval ratings come from the least populated states.

Seems like the more isolated people are from other Americans, the more they support Trump.

Which makes sense because they're more likely to believe the hate mongering and fear mongering Trump relies on to get people to vote for him.

The most trans phobic people in America have never met a transgender person. The biggest xenophobes in America have never met anyone other than white Americans.

I recently watched a clip from the early 90s with Roseanne Barr and Oprah.

Oprah was telling Roseanne the biggest reaction she's had from her show, which I'm assuming was still new at that time, was the sheer amount of letters she received from white Americans, who were impressed with her ability to speak intelligently and articulately.

Oprahs comment to it was actually very illuminating.

She stated, Black people only comprised 13% of the American population. So there were entire communities of white Americans, who based their entire opinion of Black people on what they saw in the media.

As someone who was born and raised in Los Angeles, my entire life has been surrounded by people of different nationalities, ethnicities, identities and cultures.

So imagining a person who grew up in a town, where everyone else was the same nationality, ethnicity, identity, and culture is very foreign to me.

It definitely helps explain the mentality and perspective of the average republican.

"History shows that both those who do not learn history and those who do learn history are doomed to repeat it."

I love ya corky but I am not buying it.

If they are repeating bad history then obviously they did not learn a gawd damn thing.

I have read about humans who DID learn a thing or two and when they used that knowledge wisely they changed history world history and one even conquered the entire known world with his knowledge. His name? Alexander the Great.

Here are some others. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton ... see where I am going with this?

I bet if you think real hard you can think of many many more.

Oof. Two points underwater in both FL and TX after just 100 days. Even split in Ohio. That is an accomplishment!

Some people learn history in order to repeat it.

I'm actually surprised he's not doing well in Florida.

That's Trump country.

You better get on that, Gracie.

Donner... I can't see past Trump's next 2 much less 4 years.

But I know what you mean.

Clowny.... all the world thought America looked like SoCal, physically and culturally, because that's where all the TV and films came from for their first decades, and Americans pretty much thought so, too.

Now all Americans don't know what to think; Trump is already an obvious failure, but the only thing that stopped the last far rwing populist-backed, white nationalist Cult Leader supported by the Oligarchy from ruling the entire world... was a World War.

And that one could have gone either way.
