Sec Duffy's only prior experience in the transportation industry seems to be his stint on MTV's Road Rules series.

And here I thought everything would be running perfectly because our last ---- Transportation secretary filled all those positions with DEI hires and they are always known as the best and brightest. If your pilot is black or female (worse if black and female) - change your flight. There is a non-zero probability that they did not meet the former minimum requirements to be a pilot.

I'm flying to Chicago next week to see Post Malone at Wrigley Field (a good friend is in his band ... should be a great time!).
Never felt the need to buy a "flight only AD&D policy" ... until perhaps now. Pretty sad state of affairs ...

#9 AU - Do you recall the days when airports included machines where, pre-flight, you purchased a life insurance for that flight and posted the paperwork to whoever?

I do! As well as smoking sections on planes and no security lines. Ah, the good old days!

#13: 25 years ago I was on one of the last planes in Europe that allowed smoking after the bans were put in place. A carrier that flew from Madrid to the Canary Islands kept the last rows available for the chimneys, so I left my "C" class seat in the front and sat with my Fellow Travelers in the rear. www.cafedeclic.com

Sometimes, approaching other smokers, I'd pull my index finger down to hide it and flash the back side as though the finger was missing ... like a gang sign for societal lepers smokers became and all that LOL

#15: Hi AU: That's rich. The no smoking prohibitions had unintended consequences. The SES-level boss of one agency I worked for at the Pentagon smoked. At 0530, I'd bump into him in one of the exterior cubby holes between rings. After the initial greetings of the day, we "evened out" as smokers and I picked up tidbits from him over the year (and vice versa). There was no benefit towards my OER, but I knew if I was ever jammed up, at the next smoke break he would have said, "What, Major??!!" Problem solved.
