Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, May 28, 2025

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., the chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, is investigating whether the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Tom Shimabukuro scrubbed his own emails that lawmakers believe could reveal why the feds delayed telling doctors for months about heart-inflammation risks from COVID vaccines.

Former Office of Vaccines Research and Review deputy director Philip Krause went even further than Marks.

He told Congress last year he didn't even get a booster and said the 1-in-5,000 rate of heart inflammation in young men gave "pause" to him and his boss Marion Gruber, also sidelined. Both objected to full approval on an accelerated timeline and then booster authorization.

@#6 ... FDA expands COVID vaccine warning about heart side effect risk for young males ...

The article is dated May 2025, so after anti-vax Sec Kennedy has taken control of HHS.

Is that all your current alias has?

Myocarditis in males was a known side effect of the Covid vaccine early on.

Aged 12-21 (IIRC).

A very specific age range.

In any case, yes, that safety signal was known and reported early on. I remember it happening.

Still a lower risk than getting infected, though.

@#10 ... Still a lower risk than getting infected, though. ...

Yeah, I remember, back in the day, having quite a similar discussion here on this most august site.

There were some who raised that issue about the vaccine.

But they seemed to neglect to raise the issue regarding not accepting the vaccine.

#11 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-05-30 02:51 AM | Reply

They played games with the statistics. They compared the overall risk of myocarditis from COVID of the entire population (including high risk cohorts) with the small but significant risk of myocarditis from the vaccine in males. Instead of only comparing myocarditis risk in young males from COVID. Those numbers are much closer to the point the vaccine has no statistically significant benefit weighed against the risk.

Tell us you don't understand math or medicine, without using those specific words.

You're leaving out so many salient aspects, you might as well just admit you don't know WTF you're talking about, and leave it at that.

You're only looking at the individual risk.

You're not looking at the reduced risk to the population when more people are vaccinated.

#17 | POSTED BY VISITOR_

"Informed decisions" lol.

Because people like you are thoughtless and selfish and think they are independent of the rest of society and can do whatever they want whenever they want regardless of the consequences to others.

You are not independent of society. Even if you were to be living "off the grid". You are interdependent whether you realize it or not.

Because everything is interdependent your poor health decisions will eventually and inevitably negatively affect those around you.

A primary reason for universal health care.

UHC may not be able to make your individual health care perfect but it would increase the overall health of the nation.

This has been explained over and over so you could be "informed".

Unfortunately for the welfare of the country even after being "informed" selfish A ---- such as Trumpy and yourself who cannot abide the concept of "interdependence " or even understand it and still make poor health decisions that negatively affects others.

No, they didn't dips%^# sea lion.

They looked at overall risks and also risk stratified judge and sex.

Infection always presented higher risk for myocarditis in all analyses.

Hey idiot, read this as many times as needed-

The risk from myocarditis was higher for infection that vaccination.

Have someone explain it to you if needed.

The difference was shown to be negligible in a meta study that took into account the vaccine's effectiveness at preventing COVID.

"took into account the vaccine's effectiveness at preventing COVID"

Effectiveness in the individual, or at a population level?

#30 | Posted by snoofy at 2025-05-30 03:44 PM | Reply

At an individual level the vaccine is either 100% effective or 0%. What muddies the results is that some of vaccinated get COVID and myocarditis.

A LIE is when you reveal a partial truth to make a point but leave out the most important and salient facts. It's a classic disinformation technique used by Russian propagandists.

Are you a Russian propagandist?

First, Not all cases that happen after vaccination are because of the vaccine.

Second, The risk of myocarditis from COVID-19 infection itself is much higher than the risk from vaccination.
