Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, June 11, 2025

After immigration raids sparked protests, downtown LA descended into chaos over the weekend. Right-leaning citizen journalist and political commentator Cam Higby was on the ground capturing some of the most dangerous (and viral) moments, including people burning Waymos and hurling rocks at police near City Hall. In this interview, Cam recalls the sequence of events and tries to make sense of it all " including why, exactly, the Waymos were targeted, the role of police (or lack thereof), and how various factions (ranging from responsible to anarchical) shaped the national narrative. This conversation has been edited and condensed for clarity and brevity.

How about the fact that this is a firsthand account?

You should read the interview. It's very interesting and eye opening.

RIGHT BIAS
These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using an appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports, and omit information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Right Bias sources.

Overall, we rate Pirate Wires as Right biased due to its frequent criticism of progressive policies. We rate its factual reporting as Mixed, as it relies on opinionated framing, provocative headlines, and speculative arguments rather than consistently well-sourced journalism.

So the cops, through the loud speakers, said, If you don't stop impeding police officer actions, we will start indiscriminately arresting you.'
What does "indiscriminately" mean again?

This is an interview. A firsthand account. I don't get why you all are working so hard to attack the source.

indiscriminately
adverb
US /n.dskrm.'.n't.li/ UK /n.dskrm..n't.li/
Add to word list
in a way that does not show careful choice or planning, usually with harmful results:
They fired indiscriminately into the crowd.
Chlorine bleach removes color indiscriminately, attacking stains and dyes alike.

How does your current alias seem to assume I did not know that as I read the article?

What else it got?

@#6 ... I don't get why you all are working so hard to attack the source. ...

Oh, I'm not attacking the source.

I am just trying to read the article in the appropriated context.

Compliments of google, I found this About page...

www.piratewires.com

Welcome to Pirate Wires, an American media company reporting at the intersection of technology, politics, and culture.

The promise of the internet was boundless information for every person on the planet, and it basically delivered. Our modern publishing giants gifted us a powerful chest of tools, and more knowledge, more evenly-distributed, than any generation in history.

But from draconian political censorship to an historic, increasingly-unmanageable flood of --------, our de facto rulers in this world post-2.0 also now present us with a significant series of acutely 21st Century challenges.

As power centralizes, we sail for the outskirts, and in all of this noise, we aim to find the signal.

Yeah, that gives me confidence in what is posted on that site.

So, I ask again of your current alias ...

What else it got?

The LA Riots were in 1992

#14 | Posted by hamburglar at 2025-06-12 07:02 AM | Reply

Uhh no 14, there were riots in 1992, 2013, 2020, and now 2025. At this rate of acceleration there will be one 2027 and eventually the riots will reach terminal velocity where after President Trump's third term he will be left with no choice but to nuke Los Angeles.

But but but read the first hand account of someone with opinionated framing and speculative arguments framed from a right wing conservative viewpoint so you can get an "accurate" account.

I have been reading first hand accounts.

Like the ones consistently saying the protest is relatively small (no, LA isn't burning, just like Portland didn't burn...) and largely peaceful with, as usual, a minority of people using it as a reason to be criminal.

You know, as usual for large protests on the west coast for our entire lives.

But don't let that stop you from being an easily fooled hyperventilating little b(*&^.

After the videos of police attacking peaceful protestors and media without cause, I can't blame them for getting violent.

Arson, vandalism, assaulting police including throwing bricks at police cruisers (which can be deadly), using Molotov cocktails as weapons, riding a motorcycle through a group of cops ... .That's "mostly peaceful to CNN and Baghdad Bob's for the left like JPW.

It's amazing. I live here in Los Angeles and the local news isn't showing anything BullBringer is posting hysterically about.

Seems like BullBringer is just a fkkking idiot who froths at the mouth on command like the Pavlovian dog he is.

#23 | Posted by ClownShack at 2025-06-12 04:34 PM | Reply

Things BullBringer knows nothing about:

What's happening in Los Angeles.

What's happening at the southern border.

What undocumented people do for America.

BullBringer is the typical, brain dead idiot who freaks out, on command, about everything rightwing media tells him to.
