Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, June 12, 2025

The DNC removed David Hogg (25) and Pennsylvania state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta through a virtual vote on Wednesday night, stemming from a procedural complaint unrelated to Hogg's primary activities. Hogg (25) said he would now focus his efforts on Leaders We Deserve, the group he co-founded, which said it would take on "asleep-at-the-wheel" Democrats by pledging to spend $20 million on safe-seat Democratic primaries. Hogg's plan, announced in April, triggered a wave of anger from elected officials and DNC members, who argued that Hogg's role as a party leader conflicted with the decision to take on incumbents. One analyst writes the Democratic Party implosion is worse than you think: PJ Media

The well-entrenched dinosaurs of the DNC, AIPAC, and the status quo have spoken, averting the incoming asteroid. The party of FDR and JFK simply exists to be the foil for the GOP, and not an agent of necessary change demanded by the hardworking American taxpayer tired of the status quo. The Democratic Party will suffer a permanent loss of six to eight million antiwar samaritans and progressives in future national elections because of US support for Israel, just as the Democratic Party lost voters in 1968 and 2024. US Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and the other DNC dinosaurs protecting their fiefdoms must be pleased as punch.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) AKA 'AOC' has 9.2 million followers on social media, but her 14th CD in the Bronx only has 700,000 constituents. AOC doesn't take a shekel from AIPAC, just like the "Squad" and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT). The future for changing the horrific status quo in the US lies with the 'David Hoggs' of the world and the 'Squad,' not the ossified corporate DNC dinosaurs. The instinct for self-preservation from these DNC-osaurs is exhausting the hardworking American taxpayer who is tired of rampant gun violence in the US and genocide in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

GFY DNC. Rotten to the core.

I will stand with Hogg, the Party needs young bloods like him to shake things up! Notice he's staying within the Paerty; there is nothing wrong with primarying sitting Congressmen who think they can allow the Republicans to destroy democracy while keeping a comfy seats without loudly demanding change. The few, like AOC and Hogg will be the Democratic leadership sooner than the complacent "do-nothings" expect!

#6: Any voices to help defeat the status quo which led us here is welcome. In any future election, like-minded people will scrutinize the ballot. Any DNC candidate who receives money from the NRA or AIPAC doesn't get our vote. We are already economically screwed in the Feudal States of America, so there is no sense in voting for an Islamophobe Democrat who promises change but supports genocide in Gaza with our hard-earned taxpayer money. We will just stay home from now on, like many who did on 5 Nov 2024.

You said it, Laura. No more shekels or votes from me if the Democratic Party candidate is AIPAC-funded or corporatist. This ouster of young David Hogg reminds me of what happened to Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) when he lost the primaries to Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Where would we be today if Bernie was the winning 2016 presidential candidate against Dotard Trumpf?

#11: Yup. That sums it up. If John Steinbeck, Will Rogers, and Adlai Stevenson were alive, they would look at today's Democratic Party and say, "Why, you guys are nothing but Republican lite." images.heb.com

Very on brand for removing him for diversity quota reasons and not because he held a mirror up and Dems had to see themselves for what they are.

What did they see? Diversity?! Inclusion?? Are you serious?

All they pay attention to are "donators", not some abhorrent reflection of "diversity".

You are DEI-ranged, bro. It's Progressive values versus Citizens United. FOLLOW THE MOOLAH, HUCKLEBERRY.

I don't disagree.

But they should be people who accomplished more than making a name for themselves by being a student at a school that was shot up but who wasn't even there when it was.

If the Dems keep elevating empty suits and soundbite generators, you're going to end up with younger versions of Chucky Schumer holding up Modelo and avocados while bumbling through some half assed criticism of economic policy.

David Hogg, spaghetti arms and all was literally too much man for the Democrats.

@#17 ... was literally too much man for the Democrats. ...

Why?

@#16

Agreed.

The Dems need new blood. New younger blood. Desperately.

But any random up-comer?

I'm not yet convinced of that.

Sen Schumer is the last generation (or maybe even the generation before that).

Where are the Democrats who reflect the values of today's youth?

Asked from a different perspective ...

Back in the early 1970's when I was protesting the Vietnam War, the Democrats seems to be siding with youth.

What has happened to the Democratic Party since then?

@#20 ... So you were a useful idiot ...

Why does your current alias make that unsubstantiated assertion?

I have often noted that the Democrats need new, younger, blood.

How does that make me a "useful idiot?"

@#22 ... You said that you participated in the anti Vietnam war movement. Do you not realize you were a Communist stooge? ...

I protested the Vietnam War because I wanted our troops to come home safely. In that respect, the war-hawks of the time greed with me.

Apparently, the US Government seemed to agree when it eventually gave up in Vietnam.

Now, fast-forward a few decades, look at the US-Vietnam relations ...

Readout of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's Meeting With Vietnam's Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang
www.defense.gov

...On May 31, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth met with Vietnam's Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang. Both leaders appreciated progress in the bilateral defense relationship, reflecting that 2025 is the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The leaders discussed opportunities to deepen defense cooperation, including on defense trade and information sharing, and reaffirmed that war legacy issues are a top priority of the Trump Administration. ...

And that cooperation is not something new ...

U.S., Vietnam Deepening Defense Cooperation
www.defense.gov (October 2024)

... Defense cooperation and shared security interests in Vietnam have been expanding, said Jedidiah P. Royal, principal deputy assistant secretary of defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs.

On Sept. 9, 2023, President Joe Biden traveled to Hanoi, Vietnam, where the two countries took steps to elevate relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership encompassing cooperation across a range of diplomatic, economic and defense industrial endeavors, among others, said Royal, who spoke today at the U.S. Institute of Peace's 3rd Annual Dialogue On War Legacies and Peace in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. ...

So, did my protests back in the 1970's against the Vietnam War result in A Good Thing in the long term regarding Vietnam?
