Jesus's own life as an immigrant: Jesus himself was a refugee, forced to flee to Egypt as a child.

Parable of the Good Samaritan: This parable highlights the importance of showing mercy and compassion to anyone in need, regardless of their background.

Parable of the Sheep and the Goats: This parable emphasizes that actions of love and kindness towards "the least of these," including strangers, are seen as acts of love towards Jesus himself.

"Love your neighbor as yourself": This core Christian teaching applies to all people, including immigrants.

Paul's teachings on unity in Christ: The Apostle Paul emphasizes that in Christ, there is no distinction between Jew and Gentile, slave and free, highlighting the unity of all believers"

If you point blank asked Jesus what He thought about Trump, He might would say be concerned about you own life.

Follow Me.

Only when he finally stopped laughing.

You don't have to ask him, he already told you as outlined in #5.

Jesus would THRASH THAT FOOL.

Like the Money Lenders in the Temple. Remember that story?

Trump is an affront to any kind of Decency or Fairness in public and Private.

Even mentioning Jesus and Trump in the same breath is an Obscenity.

And I'm a non believer.

I think Jesus would l see right thru you and perhaps say Trumps judgement is not your concern.

You think you would outwit Him?

Jesus would never discuss Trump with you.

Be concerned with yourself.

Corky....you really don't get it, do you?

Corky,

You talk like you see yourself as His equal asking Him to discuss Trump with you.

But you're not.

I'm with BillJohnson on this one. I'm reminded about the girl at the well. Jesus said those amongst you without sin may cast the first stone. I suspect that Jesus would say worry about your affairs and let Him worry about Trump's. That's my take.

Trump is the political power in this country, and one the main Christian duties, other than things like loving God and taking care of immigrants, neighbors, friends, and strangers... is speaking truth to power; that's a job for the church and it's members.

Laura,

You're mixing the stories...but that's alright.

Cast the first stone was about a women who was caught committing adultery.

The scribes and Pharisees took her to Jesus not to seek justice but to trap Him in a legal and moral delemma.

The Law of Moses required her be stoned. Jesus said "Let the one without sin cast the first stone".

Jesus was rattling the Jews and their laws and customs.

I guess ultimately they killed him for it.

He was too radical to live. He saw Everyone as Fully Human. Fully worthy of dignity and respect as equals before God.

The Jews don't believe in the Brotherhood of Man.

Only the exclusivity of their own Tribe. The Special and Chosen status of being Them.

They killed him for not being as Bigoted as they were.

#15 | Posted by Effeteposer at 2025-06-15 07:41 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

Eff,

"He saw Everyone as Fully Human."

And every one of us is fully accountable for our own salvation.

Being born a Jew didn't carry much weight with Jesus either.

He said,

Matthew 3:9 (NLT)
"Don't just say to each other, We're safe, for we are descendants of Abraham.' That means nothing, for I tell you, God can create children of Abraham from these very stones."

Yea...I see why Jewish leaders wanted to get rid of him.

@#6 ... If you point blank asked Jesus what He thought about Trump, He might would say be concerned about you own life. ...

That is quite the deflection away from a question you admit is "point blank."

So, let me ask it again ...

If you point blank asked Jesus what He thought about Trump, what might Jesus say?

thx.

Jesus wouldn't respect Trump.

Period.

#19 | Posted by Effeteposer at 2025-06-15 08:56 PM | Reply

Whatever he said, it would be after he threw up first.

The worst human in the entire story is the Man of Sin, and whether Herr Trump is actually him or not, he is the epitome of him; fitting the dozens of descriptions of him as a vile liar, a wannbe King, and the charismatic leader of a major military power nation whose Christians have fallen away from God and who now support him. Sound familiar?

One can read about him or watch a video about him here:

Still apparently trying to remain relevant.

imo, humorous, at best.

But, do keep trying.

Lamp,

"If you point blank asked Jesus what He thought about Trump, what might Jesus say?"

I just don't believe Jesus will give you the answer you're fishing for.

Jesus spoke in parables and stories with deeper meaning.

He would know what you're fishing for and might say referring to Trump,

"He would have no authority unless it were given to him from above."

#22 | Posted by BillJohnson at 2025-06-15 09:25 PM | Reply

"He would have no authority unless it were given to him from above."

Just as in the story, the authority is given to the AntiChrist to do what he does. Until he walks into the coming 3rd Temple and claims to be the savior of the World... which if I'm not mistaken, Trump has already at least intimated.

Then he's F-d up.

#23 | Posted by Corky at 2025-06-15 09:33 PM | Reply

Lamp,

Keep in mind the Christian perspective is that God is all-powerful.

That means no leader, no system, and no nation exists apart from His permission. Trump isn't above that. Neither is anyone else.

Jesus told Pilate, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above." (John 19:11)

That's a difficult concept to absorb.

Trump is where he is because God allowed it. Not necessarily because Trump is righteous, but because God has a purpose whether that's to bless America, to test America, or to judge America.

God will reveal in his own time.

@#22 ... I just don't believe Jesus will give you the answer you're fishing for. ...

OK, now, you seem to know "the answer I am fishing for."

If I may ask, what answer is that?

Lamp,

"OK, now, you seem to know "the answer I am fishing for."

I answered what I believed and yet you asked again #18.

I can only assume you're seeking more and I won't presume to know what you want but it's s something I didn't say.

@#26 ... I answered what I believed and yet you asked again #18. ...

OK, given the answer you gave in #18, I'll ask once more ...

How do you seem to know "the answer I am fishing for?"

I am not asking what you believe, but what you know.

Asked differently, why do you seem to ascribe your beliefs on to knowledge of what I ask?

Lamp,

Your question was,

"If you point blank asked Jesus what He thought about Trump, what might Jesus say?"

And I told you what I believed he might say.

Now you are saying,

"I am not asking what you believe, but what you know."

How would I "know"?

Lamp,

Frankly, the thread heading question isn't likely a genuine inquiry of opinions anyway, considering who is asking.

And probably just wanting to create another Trump bashing thread.

I neither bashed nor defended Trump.

And what problem do you have bashing convicted criminal frauds, rapists, liars, and traitors to their country.... especially ones who happens to perfectly match ALL the bibles descriptions of the Man of Sin?

Thank-you for continuing to reply.

So, you seem to admit that it is what you believe.

So, like the MAGA cult, a belief is foremost?

Are you admitting that your religion is a cult that believes?
