In a rare interview with a foreign media organisation, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sky News that Russia would react "very negatively" if Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed.

Wow... Rogers with the big story; I wondered who had posted it when I saw the listing.

I just have to say that, until now I wasn't sold on offing Big K, but since Vlad is against it, odds are I'm for it. I just wish I knew that the People of Iran, who have protested their Gov as best they could under an Authoritarian Regime, would take control of the country... but there are other bad and worse players that would likely still be in charge.

All this "regime change" talk brings to mind the unpleasant reality that for all of its firepower and endless bombast, the American military, conventional wisdom aside, has a decidedly patchy post-1945 record.
