One of the worst negotiators in world history. Sets an artificial deadline, and when there is no movement on the part of the other side, our guy faces the choice of imposing tariffs and losing face, or 'revising' his deadline and looking foolish while still no closer to any of his '90 deals in 90 days'.

The nasty letters Der Dotard will reportedly send out this week will probably have the same effect--nothing.

Were I advising the countries threatened with tariffs I would advise all to engage slowly, so as to demonstrate a willingness to negotiate, but do so on a reasonable timeline. Have and keep to their negotiating position. The fatal flaw in the Trump administration's plan is that they they are relying on fast response, which can cause the other side to simply agree with what Trump and his minions are offering. Trump does not have the patience, analytical capability, intellect or negotiating position to work through protracted negotiations. He wants people to like him, which means that if they 'agree' with him on some point, he can declare victory and move on. String him out, wear him down, get him impatient, and he will give up most of what he seeks so that he can declare' victory', no matter how small or meaningless...

#11 You told us after the last round we would be in a recession, shelves would be empty and inflation would go through the roof. In other words your chicken little predictions are tiresome.

Lamp: Um, it appears you are the last person in the US to understand that the end consumer is who pays the tariff, NOT some foreign manufacturer or government. And if tariffs are not passed to the end consumer, that means the entity which sells to the end consumer is making less profit (or in some cases, selling at a loss). That action translates to lower profit for the seller, and lower stock price for the investor. With so many in the US with 401-k or other investment vehicles, that means a loss in value to their investment. You're welcome...
