More Than 130 Passengers Fall Ill on Royal Caribbean Cruise

CDC: 134 passengers reported diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal cramps during a July 4 to July 11 cruise aboard the cruise ship Navigator of the Seas. Seven crew members also reported illness.

The combination of endless alcohol exposure and being held hostage to retail has that effect.

I love the ocean but could never understand those who what to spend time packed on a cruise ship with thousands of strangers. If I won a berth on one, i'd give it away as never been interested.

fyI: "The average cruise ship can hold around 3,000 passengers. However, this number can vary significantly depending on the size and type of ship, with some mega-ships accommodating over 6,000 passengers."

Never understood the allure of a cruise ship: you first may have to fly there, then wait in a long line to embark, locked up in tiny rooms with 1500-2000 others, no privacy of any kind, crowds everywhere, like a floating Las Vegas, every experience is designed to get you to spend more money. And the ventilation, food "service," etc. is like a floating petri dish.

Just not for me.

I know quite a few cruise people. They all try and get me to go on one but I have yet to succumb to peer pressure.

I've done peak season Vegas, I don't feel the need to do the same but on water. I'll take the cost of the cruise and rent a nice cabin with a view of the sun rising or setting over the mountains, no neighbors in sight, and a private hot tub. Much more my speed for a vacation.
