Attorney General Brian Schwalb filed a lawsuit Friday challenging President Donald Trump's unprecedented takeover of the U.S. capital city's police force. "The Administration's actions are brazenly unlawful," Schwalb said in a statement after the suit's filing in U.S. District Court in D.C.

There's no more rule of law in America anymore.

It's just whatever Trump says, and Republicans in Congress, the Supreme Court and local governments doing everything they can to make whatever he said the truth.

This nation has two parties. The Democratic Party and the party of Trump, the American Fascist Party.

Foxnews is reporting crime statistics in DC are being reported missing the full picture.

"But really what it is is a record of crimes that are reported to the police and then those of those crimes that get reported to the FBI. It's not a full record of all violent crimes, and this is a problem"

How many crimes are never reported to the police?

BullJohnson voted for a pedophile and convicted criminal.

But he's really worried about crime in DC.

I'll give you a hint. The biggest criminal in DC is your boy Trump.

"Foxnews is reporting ... "

I call BS.

Sorry. I require a second source to verify anything Fox News "reports".

Clown,

"You talking domestic abuse?"

Local violent crimes not reported to the FBI are not included in the reported statistics claiming crime is down.

Is that unique to DC, or are you just pretending it is?

Donner,

I've already dug into this and found a flaw in Fox's report, though it's not entirely wrong.

DC is supposed to report all of its crimes to the FBI, but not every state or jurisdiction does.

The problem is that even where full reporting exists there are loopholes in practice. Both logistical and political factors can distort the numbers.

Logistical issues like backlogs, inconsistent coding, or missing data.

Political pressures that encourage downgrading charges or delaying reports to make stats look cleaner.

So while Fox wasn't completely off base, complete reporting doesn't guarantee accurate or consistent crime data is given to the FBI.

Bottomline, it's still questionable if crime is truly down in DC.

'Questionable' must be serious enough to declare a, "Serious Crime Emergency" and send in the US Troops!

The Cult is fine with anything Dear Leader does... he can even bend over for Putin, which is OK, too.

@#11 ... DC is supposed to report all of its crimes to the FBI ...

Has the number (percentage) of unreported crimes varied over the years, or has it been largely consistent?

While the alleged unreported crimes is an interesting datum, it still has not been shown how it affects the conclusions drawn, just hat it "might" affect them..

No, it's not.

I live near D.C., if crime was not very obviously down compared to the 90s I'd be agreeing with you.

You can't just hide behind uncertainty and build policy around unknowns, which is what you do with mail in ballots.

There's no reasonable basis for the President to invoke emergency powers to crack down on crime in Washington D.C., because there's no such crime wave causing any emergency.

The President doesn't even have statistics to support his claim.

How does merely casting doubt on the official numbers get you to agree there is an emergency?

You can't explain it. Because you don't understand why you think the things you think. Honestly it must be terrifying being you. Almost like a dementia patient.

DC police chief retains command after deal with Trump administration
www.bbc.com

... Washington DC's police chief Pamela Smith will retain control of the force after the city sued over US Attorney General Pam Bondi naming the head of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as the district's "emergency police commissioner".

The lawsuit asked a judge to void Bondi's order and stop the DEA head from taking any position of command in the force.

After the hearing, the justice department agreed to remove the DEA head as the emergency police chief, filing a new order that made him an intermediary between the administration and police.

The city's attorney general Brian Schwalb said that his "expectation is the key issue with respect to control and command of our MPD has been resolved". ...
