The leader of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), an organization that fights antisemitism, is explaining his group's decision to set up a special project to monitor Zohran Mamdani, the mayor-elect of New York City.

The Anti-Defamation League is launching an "initiative to track and monitor Mamdani administration policies." They did not do this when the Heritage Foundation, which is directly staffing and writing policies for the Trump administration, defended neo-Nazis.

"After the ADL announced its scrutiny of Mamdani, the mayor-elect told reporters, "I take the issue of antisemitism incredibly seriously."

Mamdani continued:

"I think anyone is free to catalog the actions of our administration. I have some doubts about Jonathan's ability to do so honestly, given that he previously said I had not visited any synagogues, only to have to correct himself.".

Will the ADL monitor the rampant Islamophobia directed towards Mamdani?

The guy's parents are Indian and he was raised in Uganda.

But sure, he's a sharia law Muslim bringing communism to America.

Republicans are fkkking morons.

In a nutshell, why the Democrats lost nationally in 2024 but Zohran Mamdani won in NYC this week:

POTUS Joe Biden upon hearing that the ICC indicted Vladimir Putin for war crimes (BBC, 18 Mar 2023): "He's clearly committed war crimes."

POTUS Joe Biden upon hearing that the ICC indicted Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes (BBC, 22 Nov 2024): "That's outrageous!"

And after all the tremendous financial and military support Biden continued to send to Bibi during the Nakba at cost of the progressive antiwar bloc, the nefarious Netanyahu visited the ex-POTUS in nearby Delaware each time he flew to Washington DC this year, right?

Democratic Presidential candidate "Kamala Harris will not support an arms embargo on Israel, her national security adviser says, a day after she was heckled by pro-Palestinian protesters at a rally in Detroit.

In a post on Twitter/X, Biden administration official Phil Gordon said Ms. Harris "has been clear: she will always ensure Israel is able to defend itself against Iran and Iran-backed terrorist groups".

And still half of Muslim Americans (1.34% of the US population) voted for Kamala Harris, similar to the rest of the country.

Bye-bye 6,265,888 antiwar progressive voters Democrats had in 2020, just like 1968.

@#1 ... "I think anyone is free to catalog the actions of our administration. I have some doubts about Jonathan's ability to do so honestly, given that he previously said I had not visited any synagogues, only to have to correct himself.". ...

I mostly agree with that.

Let's wait and see how Mayor-elect Mamdani performs and acts going forward.

#8 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-11-07 07:42 PM | Reply

Why should we "wait and see how Mayor-elect Mamdani performs and acts going forward?"

Q: Why should Zohran Mamdani be scrutinized any more or less than any other elected official? And how should this mild-mannered man "act?"

A: Because he is Muslim, nothing more, nothing less and a thorn in the side of AIPAC. Zohran's platform is no more incendiary or dangerous than Bernie Sander's or Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC who calls himself a "European Socialist." Lawrence O'Donnell worked for Democratic Party luminaries his whole career.

Endnote: Like the late author E.L. Doctorow, former Congressman Alan Grayson, and myself, Zohran Mamdani graduated the Bronx HS of Science.

@#9 ... Why should we "wait and see how Mayor-elect Mamdani performs and acts going forward?" ...

Oh, that's an easy one.

If you want to comment upon how Mayor-elect Mamdani may act, don't express your opinions about how he may act.

Just wait and see how he actually does act.

And, yeah, as I have stated many times before, I am in the NYC media area.

As a result, for example, my cable provider (Comcast) provides me with the NYC TV stations in HD, but my local Connecticut stations are only SD.

OK, that aside, I do see a lot of the local NYC news (more than I prefer).

Most of the concerns I've seen regarding Mayor-elect Mamdani seem to be more based upon political things than factual things.

Time will tell.

You live in Connecticut, Lamplighter, and sniping at Zohran Mamdani on drudge.com because he is Muslim, PERIOD.

And you watch too much TV.

So, let's all see and judge how you "act" on drudge.com, "Mr. I Live in Upscale Connecticut" before some of us *Killfile* you for wasting our time with your nuanced Islamophobia.

And by all means, *Killfile* me any time you like. Please.

@#12 ... You live in Connecticut, Lamplighter, and sniping at Zohran Mamdani on drudge.com because he is Muslim, PERIOD. ...

My first question: how am I "sniping" at Mayor-elect Mamdani?

... And you watch too much TV. ...

Not really. My DVR has a fast-forward button with I use a lot when I'm watching the NYC news.

... So, let's all see and judge how you "act" on drudge.com, "Mr. I Live in Upscale Connecticut" before some of us *Killfile* you for wasting our time with your nuanced Islamophobia. ...

Wow, get a grip. Please.

... wasting our time with your nuanced Islamophobia ...

I have been accused of many things in my past.

For example, being a commie-hippy freak back when I was protesting against the Vietnam War.

But an Islamophobia?

Never, until now.

Please provide details of how you came to that conclusion. I would like to discuss that aspect of your opinion about my comment.

thx.

@#11 ... Stated differently,

Is Mayor-elect Mamdani a Swamp Thing? ...

In my current view of Mayor-elect Mamdani: no, he is not.

Mayor-elect Mamdani seems to have a real concern for the people of NYC. Not just the wealthy ones. But all the folk.

Perhaps that is why he won the election, and why some folk seem to have their undies in a bunch about his victory.

One more time before *Killfile*

You wrote: "Let's wait and see how Mayor-elect Mamdani performs and acts going forward."

Performs and acts? Who are you in Connecticut to judge how New Yorker Zohran Mamdani "performs and acts?"

He is the elected Mayor of NYC, not a circus seal "performing and acting" for your amusement or critique.

You also wrote "Is Mayor-elect Mamdani a Swamp Thing?"

What are you trying to imply there?

You also admitted:

"And, yeah, as I have stated many times before, I am in the NYC media area.

Got one thanks. You've been accused of being an Islamophobe. Deal with it. Don't like what I have to write? Don't read my OPs or comments and *Killfile* me.

See how easy that is?

I was speaking of how well he performs and acts as the Mayor of NYC, and how the people of NYC react to his performance and actions.

I was born and raised in NYC, so I do have a bit of an interest what happens in NYC.

Aside from that, Mayor-elect Mamdani has changed the political landscape of NYC. He has a hill to climb in order to attain the goals he set out to reach.

How well he does that? Time will tell.

... You also wrote "Is Mayor-elect Mamdani a Swamp Thing?"

What are you trying to imply there? ...

I was trying to convey the view that MAGA has of Mayor-elect Mamdani, asking if he really is as bad as they describe him to be.

... You've been accused of being an Islamophobe. ...

I still have not seen any justification for that slur.

It's C0RI0LANUS. Everyone is an Islamophobe with him unless they drop trow and get on all fours every time they see a Hamas member.

And he killfiles anyone who is even mildly critical of his stunted world view. Which I suppose is an improvement over how his Islamic terrorist heroes would behave, since they would skip the "file" part and go straight to "kill."

#20 Is there some point to this?

Generally speaking, most people don't wallow in what they consider to be a "sewer."

And from just the first couple of responses to your post so far, the consensus is with #22:

Then leave if you hate it here. No one is forcing you to stay here.

Perhaps Elon's Nazi bar, the former Twitter, is more to your liking.

Or maybe, the Goyim Defense League website would feel as comfortable as home to you.

Or, perhaps, the Atomwaffen Division (AWD) / National Socialist Order (NSO) message board is up your alley.

Since you really cannot differentiate between what does and what does not constitute an on-line sewer, you should fit in nicely there.

Where shall we forward any future responses (j/k) that might trickle in?

The guy's parents are Indian and he was raised in Uganda.

But sure, he's a sharia law Muslim bringing communism to America.

Republicans are fkkking morons. ...

And, as I have stated in the past more than once ...

Many of the policies that Mayor-elect Mamdani wants to institute may be dead on arrival because (known locally, but not nationally) New York State has a tremduous sway over the Mayor of NYC.

For example ...

Hochul a 'no' on Mamdani's free bus plan; 'yes' on statewide universal childcare
ny1.com

... During the final day of the Somos conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Gov. Kathy Hochul threw cold water on one of Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's key policy proposals: free MTA bus rides.

"I cannot set forth a plan right now that takes money out of a system that relies on the fares of the buses and the subways. But can we find a path to make it more affordable for people who need help? Of course, we can," Hochul said during a press conference with reporters, referencing her prior deals with the MTA to provide billions for the authority's next capital plan, as well as other investments like cameras on subway cars. ...

Since NYC's MTA, that provides the bus service, is actually a state-run orgranization (as I have noted in the past), free bus fares in NYC do not look promising at this point.

#25 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-11-09 10:07 PM | Reply

Another aspect, known locally but not nationally, is that the Governor of NY can remove the Mayor of NYC in some instances.

To wit ...

Governor Hochul will not remove NYC Mayor Adams from office (February 2025)
www.bbc.com

... Governor Kathy Hochul has decided not to remove New York City Mayor Eric Adams from office, but instead announced a plan to limit his authority following a string of scandals.

The New York governor said she would propose legislation and measures aimed at exerting more oversight over the mayor's office. Adams responded there would have been no legal basis to remove him. ...

OK, now, fast-forward to the 2026 election in NY.

Current Gov Hochul looks to be up against a Trump-adulating NY Rep Stefanik.

imo the NY Gov race will be an interesting one to watch as it moves forward.

Stefanik won't win.

If she wins it will be because of voter fraud.

There, I said it.

Why has no one looked into Trump's win?

If the Dems take back Congress they should persue fraud investigations into the Trump 2024 "win".
