NEW: Civilians have had apparent seizures. One had his eyes roll back. Another had ribs broken.

"I felt like I was going to pass out and die," said a 16-year-old citizen put in a chokehold.

The government won't say if any agents have been punished.[image or embed]

Who will be the next American citizen to die?

First, they came for "others." Then they came after everyone.

There isn't a Republican who will condemn this.

And this is what D/FBI Kashyap Pramod Vinod Patel wants for the FBI: Brutal UFC tactics, like these submission holds.

These strangulation moves were not taught at FLETC when I went decades ago (2x).

There are other less dangerous, yet effective, techniques to secure a non-compliant suspect without asphyxiating, choking, or strangling them.

Here's an example of an arm-lock: i.ytimg.com

Quite the opposite. They wait it for this move when they watch UFC bouts.

I don't think we're out on a limb when we say, their out-of-control.

They are purposefully meant to be out of control; inexperienced, undertrained, and over-paid is just what the Pres ordered.

Agreed. I was a student in a dojo run by a DA many moons ago (80s). I was MMA before MMA (I trained in 3 different martial arts) and at the time it was fun but looking back... It should have taught me a thing or two about the police.

Once or twice a year he would bring officers from around the area in to train them on safer techniques for handling resisting suspects. There was this one cop (honestly he was a bully - he was from and worked in my town and the stories). Anyhow he was a karate black belt (no karate taught here...) had a way of putting his foot in his mouth. "Karate is the simply superior" - My Sensei challenged him to a no holds barred fight with a 17 year old novice girl. She then proceeds to beat him up. "You aren't going to make me get out of this car using jujitsu" - Sensei bets him 20 dollars he will have him out and subdued in under 20 seconds using only one hand and then does it leaving the guy cuffed on the ground with tears in his eyes (in fairness I know how painful the technique he used is when done right - but you have to execute). He just never learned. I digress - the point is you have to be a goon and/or a sadist to use these deadly techniques.

@10 Hi Galaxie Pete:

Good story.

Like you, I learned martial arts (Japanese ju-jitsu) decades ago, long before MMA was introduced to the US by the Gracie clan. Everybody else in my neighborhood boxed, but I played the piano and trumpet and didn't want to take a chance injuring my fingers or my lips.

In jujitsu training we were taught the several dangerous strangulation and choking technique, and how to escape them, but sensei let us practice no more than twice per session because he didn't want to take a chance that a student could get hurt in their tracheal or carotid artery area. If I was choked or strangled twice in a session: "OK! That's it! Next student!"

The US Army taught some of those lethal techniques in hand-to-hand combat training, but the Rangers and SF guys got much more of that training in their programs.

When I went to FLETC years later, we were taught how to restrain someone from the rear without having to apply pressure to the neck/throat region. FBI SAs are taught the same technique (my agency sent me to the FBI DT program years later).

When we see these submission moves by American cops from any jurisdiction on suspects, you and I both know this is official application of an unofficial technique.

I'm off to bridge now, so we'll have to continue this later.
