Not sure if he still lurks, but here's wishing DethSpud a very Happy Birthday.
Our friend from the North.
Be Well.

Always that DethSpud was vastly overrated, and drilled his shtick into the ground.
But he had some good takes, exiting stage left, as you do.

Along with my immediate fascination with Boaz and wondering why some guy posted incessantly about Jeff Gannon's --- dumpster (whom I now recognize as Rein, honing his craft) or George Bush's pegboard (or vice versa), from the old DR days, I'd have to say my favorite posts were Doc Sarvis going off on JeffnDenmark, aka Jiggy in Jutland. Comedy gold.
And as offensive as he was, 101Chairborne was just so damn hilarious at times.

How Philosophical!
We are all lost in Time like "tears in the rain".
But "God" is in the rain. And the rain will be here millions or even billions of years after we are all long gone and forgotten. Your molecules will not remember you. In fact they don't even know you now.

#10 LegallyYourDead says, "I would gladly pay you Tuesday for a car antenna today."
"Guy pulls a gun first--takes your gun. I would say any criminal that tries to hold someone up with a knife is a fool, but if he has a knife and you make a move, you could be sliced pretty bad and there's no guarantee you shoot him or don't have the gun used on you. No guarantee the bullet won't go through him and kill someone else. I'd rather have a car antennae than a gun in that situation. Even a rock or a club." - - Buffalo_bOoB, inducing many a facepalm.

Dethspud? Sounds like a nickname given to a pedophile.

"Dethspud" sounds nothing like Trump or Epstein.
Dethspud would have rung that little bell or yours until it cracked.
And he would have been very nice about it.
We could use a little more Dethspud around here.
And cow bells. We could definitely use more cow bells.

There was an X poster who posted as Dethspud up until 2019, a lib.
And... wouldn't 'Bellringer' remember the Tater O' Doom if he had been JeffyJ?
Or is he just prevaricating now?

No. He is implying.
It actually shows he knows of the "controversy" that occurred just before the Tator escaped being French fried by the hateful pre-maga maga maroons that were here even then.

Yeah, I guess. A Friend would prolly know. I just hate it when people join Cults and become shells of their former thinking selves.
As you know, I still use some Spudisms in remembrance.
We got a little bit difficult with each other during the '16 Dem primary, but remained friends.

Yup!
"Bears Repeating!" (The Spud used actual bears!)
"And then you exit. Stage left. As you do!"
Happy Birthday to the Tator wherever he is!

Didn't Deythspud leave because he had a "tator tot"?

I think so but he left years and years before your handle was registered.
Maybe you've already disclosed this so I apologize if I missed it.....but what name did you use to post under?

Eberly, I am a long time lurker. I was lurking before Gracie and her banned friends showed up. There was once a post to lure out the lurkers, but I didn't become a poster until long after I retired from work.

#23 Not 100% sure Chantresse. But that does sound like our friend to leave for a new tator tot.
About 5 years after he departed this august site, my bride and I took a trip out West (Chicago to Seattle on Amtrack's Empire Builder), ending up in Vancouver via a rental car. I still had a way of contacting him then, and while I knew he lived in Canada, it wasn't until we returned home that I found out from him that we had had lunch in a restaurant which was mere blocks from where he was at the same time. Would have been fun to actually meet Tater...

Gotcha. I think you explained that before. Sorry for making you repeat that.
#28 | Posted by eberly at 2026-01-27 02:16 PM | Reply
I did, but no problem. Makes me wonder how many of the "who were you before?" posts are for the same reason.

I am a long time lurker.
Probably more folks like that around here than we realize.
I was lurking before Gracie and her banned friends showed up.
That was hilarious, especially when they started fighting IRL and then on the DR.
I think baysidepc (or something like that) died, according to gracie.

#30 I didn't know that history. That must have come out on the Nooner. I never had the pleasure to partake of that experience. I know Gracie was around my age. Bayside was a photographer and the other friend was a doctor, I believe.

#32 A most excellent - and spot-on - memory, Chantresse.
And Bayside referred to one of the many bays in and around Panama City, Florida.

I believe the other one was patriot nurse or some such.

I think Tater would approve a little protest music at this point for his B-Day:
