"On the Democratic side, the 36-year-old Talarico has risen in stature against Crockett, who is attempting to rise to the Senate after taking office in the lower chamber just over three years ago."

"Cornyn and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) have warned that either Talarico or Crockett could defeat Paxton if the Texas attorney general beats Cornyn.

A Democrat has not won a Senate election in Texas since former Sen. Lloyd Bentsen won his final race in 1988."

Kamala Harris' endorsement of Jasmine Crockett could be the Kiss of Death for her campaign.

Both are AIPAC money recipients.

And Graham Cunningham Platner, the former US Marine, is doing well in the Maine polls.

He just picked up another endorsement.

Will history repeat itself for a progressive Democrat in Texas tomorrow, Tuesday 3 Nov 2026?

James Talarico (D) has a slim lead over Jasmine Crockett (D).

Some of you may recall, in Oct 2025 I wrote that each Palestinian killed by the IDF in Gaza would amount to 65 to 70 votes for Democrat Zohran Mamdani in the race for NYC Mayor.

Zohran Mamdani would win with 1,114,184 votes (50.78% of the popular vote).

Today, the IDF killed 31 people in Beirut, 75 to 80 miles away from the Lebanese Hezbollah rocket launchers in the south of the country.

The innocent Iranian schoolchildren casualties from that horrible attack are still being tabulated; right now the number is around 165 and Dummkopf Trumpf is blathering about the drapes in his garish ballroom.

The antiwar bloc, a movement as old as the American Revolution itself, will propel James Talarico (D) to victory tomorrow.

Paxton is a criminal.

Therefore he'll win the GOP primary.

@#5 ... Paxton is a criminal.

Therefore he'll win the GOP primary. ...

While I cannot say whether or not he will win, I do note...

Ken Paxton - Legal issues

...
State securities fraud felony indictment

On July 28, 2015, a state grand jury indicted Paxton on three criminal charges:[269] two counts of securities fraud (a first-degree felony) and one count of failing to register with state securities regulators (a third-degree felony).[270][271] Paxton's indictment marked the first such criminal indictment of a Texas attorney general in thirty-two years since Texas attorney general Jim Mattox was indicted for bribery in 1983.[272] The complainants in the case are Joel Hochberg, a Florida businessman, and Byron Cook, a Republican and former member of the Texas House of Representatives.[273][274] Paxton and Cook were former friends and roommates while serving together in the Texas House.[274] Three special prosecutors were trying the state's case.[275] ...

Securities and Exchange Commission civil action

In 2016, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a civil enforcement action against Paxton in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The SEC's complaint specifically charged Paxton with violating various provisions of the Securities Act of 1933 and various provisions (including Rule 10b-5) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 by defrauding the Servergy investors.[300] Paxton denied the allegations.[276][301][302][303] One of the defendants and Servergy itself reached a separate settlement with the SEC, agreeing to pay $260,000 in penalties.[304] ...

Whistleblower allegations

In October 2020, seven of Paxton's top aides published a letter to the office's director of human resources, accusing Paxton of improper influence, abuse of office, bribery and other crimes, and said they had provided information to law enforcement and asked them to investigate.[311][312] The letter was signed by first assistant attorney general Jeff Mateer,[312][311] and the deputy and deputy attorneys general overseeing the office's divisions for criminal investigations, civil litigation, administration, and policy.[311] Paxton denied misconduct and said he would not resign.[312][313] By the end of the month, all seven whistleblowers had left the office: three resigned, two were fired, and two were put on leave.[314]

The allegations included that Paxton illegally used his office to benefit real estate developer Nate Paul, who had donated $25,000 to Paxton's 2018 campaign,[315] and that Paxton advocated that Paul's company, World Class, hire a woman with whom Paxton had had an extramarital affair. Paul acknowledged employing the woman but denied that he had done so on Paxton's behalf.[316]

Change in primary voting rules leads to confusion in 2 Texas counties as voters are turned away
apnews.com

... Voters in two major Texas counties were turned away at polling locations and directed to different precincts Tuesday, after a recent change in how the primary is conducted created confusion and frustration.

In Dallas County, a judge ordered polls to remain open for two hours past the scheduled 7 p.m. closing time, citing "voter confusion so severe" that it caused the website of the county election office to crash. The judge was acting on a petition filed by the local Democratic Party in a heavily left-leaning county.

In Dallas and Williamson counties, voters had been allowed to cast their ballot anywhere in their county for years. But for this primary, the local Republican parties opted against countywide voting. State law says both major parties have to agree to the countywide system for it to be in effect.

That meant that on Tuesday all voters in the two counties could cast ballots only at their assigned precinct. ...

The 2 Republicans are going to have a run-off since neither will 50 percent... which means they'll have to fight it out another few months.

AND a Judge issued a Temp Restraining Order in Dallas County to block the vote count.

Looks like Talarico will be the Dem nominee.

It's ironic that the CBS, now controlled by Trumper Ellison's Paramount, and which banned Talarico's interview with Stephen Colbert from airing (later viewed by tens of millions online), may have given him millions in free press and be the reason he beat Crockett. And quite possibly a Senate seat win in November. Talarico previously won his heavily Republican district by double digits.

Cornyn and Paxton will sling mud at each other until the May runoff, wounding both of them.

Paxton winning the nomination would be a nightmare for Republican chances. He has more baggage than a Samsonite factory.

If it's Cornyn, it'll be an old codger who's been in DC for too long vs the young, charasmatic Talarico.

PS - If Talarico wins in November, I think we'll be looking at a future U.S. President Talarico one day.

The MAGA talking points to slime him with should be out within the hour. Dinger will start an op-ed concern troll thread about how bad this is.

Many times while listening to him talk I have had this same thought.

I'd honestly prefer Talarico to Newsom, any day.

The MAGA talking points to slime him with should be out within the hour.

He's a white, heterosexual, Christian man who speaks from his heart, is quite knowledgeable about the Bible and has always met opposition with a confident, calm demeanor.

But, he speaks up about the injustices of income inequality.

So, the gluttonous oil barons of Texas will fight him with all their hoarded wealth.

Just as I predicted in October 2025 with Zohran Mamdani's campaign for NYC Mayor, every person the IDF kills in Gaza, the West Bank, Yemen, Lebanon, or Iran equates to votes for a progressive candidate in the US.

Last weekend Kamala Harris rendered Jasmine Crockett, both of whom are AIPAC recipients, the Kiss of Death with her bland robocall endorsement.

Now some will argue that House Democrat Jasmine Crockett lost to James Talarico (D) because she's a Woman of Color.

Uh-huh.

Watch the Muslim body count pile up in the Middle East and then see who wins the Maine Democratic Party primary on 9 June.

My money is on progressive Democrat former US Marine Graham Platner, like it was on Zohran Mamdani in mid-2025 and James Talarico in Jan 2026.
