Pope Leo has said God ignores the prayers of leaders who wage war and have "hands full of blood", in an apparent rebuke to the Trump administration.

This Pope has turned out to be such a blessing, especially compared to the other American contender for that job, a Trumper whom many thought might be elected.

You can't guilt-trip a man who is a sociopath.
The Pope has merely assured that he is on Trump's revenge list.

I'm not a Catholic, but Trump isn't fit to be in the same room with the current pope.

I'm sure Bibi was completely unaware of the Pope's stand.

I'm not either.
I like and admire Leo for the same reasons I liked and admired Francis:
Humble practitioners who abide by and advocate for what the namesake of Christianity taught.

With you on that, AU. For me, both men represent the best of Catholicism's teachings. You rarely find their sort making it far enough through the impediments imposed by outfit's sclerotic bureaucracy to be noticed. At the parish level, yes.

One imagines, not a call to arms, but a call to disarm from the Catholic Church...a pleading to spare the lives of so many and look for avenues of peace. One imagines hope, but truth be told, one is a little delusional this early in the morning, I am sure in a few hours, one will see that Trump and his dictatorship have hate and horror in mind.

I find it amusing but very sad that many phony Christians are telling Pope Leo to 'stay in his lane', or try to argue theology with him, pointing to snippets from the Old Testament to justify their war mongering, cruelty to others and a general lack of living their supposed faith. Meanwhile, here on Holy Week they continue to act like they are God's chosen ones while worshiping a guy who hasn't been seen at church since a funeral he didn't want to attend because he wasn't the center of attention...

Leo is the most consistently courageous American leader we have right now. How ironic it is that 60ish years ago JFK had to fly down to TX to convince a group of Protestant ministers that the pope wouldn't be in charge if he (JFK) were elected POTUS. Now we have Trumpers claiming that "separation of church and state" is, at best, too 'woke' if not outright unconstitutional (which is nuts).
