GLAAD reports AI systems are replicating the same anti-LGBTQ bias and misinformation problems that have long plagued social platforms. One example: Meta's updated Llama 4 model recommends conversion "therapy" in response to queries and moderation systems that wrongly suppress legitimate LGBTQ content.

1. Meet people.
2. Read.
3. Talk to people you can learn to trust.
4. AI if you're lacking in time or the human element.
5. Caveat emptor, mofos.

I used to work for a motivational speaker named Charlie "Tremendous" Jones. I could do without his theology, but he had a salient point. And an eyepatch.

His motto: "You'll be the same person five years from now as you are today, except for the people you meet and the books you read."

I was at a library conference where librarians had tested search terms and results for biases. All or some of those hosted by EBSCO returned "mental illness" as a search term synonym for "homosexuality", amongst other glaring findings. This is the same kinda nefarious stuff going on with AI. But we've seen the people in charge, we know they are not good people

@#7 ... This is the same kinda nefarious stuff going on with AI. ...

But it is not just limited to AI.

Facial recognition also enters the picture.

Police tweak 'biased' facial recognition software (March 2026)
www.bbc.com

... A police force has paused the use of live facial recognition (LFR) cameras after a study found it was statistically more likely to identify black people than other ethnic groups.

Essex Police has used the technology since summer 2024, but the study identified "a potential bias in the positive identification rate" of black people over white people on its watchlist.

The force said that following updates to its algorithm and software, it was confident that LFR cameras could be deployed again.

But campaign group Big Brother Watch said the technology was "authoritarian, inaccurate and ineffective in equal measure". ...

And when the people in charge are actively bad, there needs to be more drive to expose and oust them

So we're going to start putting the non-white CEOs on there with the 3 hated white guys? Or else, that seems like a significant bias.
