Investigators in Doa Ana County used traffic cameras, GPS and old fashioned detective work to track down the vehicle and driver witnesses photographed leaving the scene of a deadly midday hit-and-run earlier this week.
Kimberly Skaggs, 54, the Treasurer of the Republican Party of New Mexico is facing felony charges after leaving the scene of a fatal crash with a cyclist. The GOP has quickly severed its ties with her. The incident adds to an extended list of criminal law problems facing Republican leaders.
