And here is my prediction...Trump walked away from those casinos he bankrupted quite wealthy...as he told them the only way they could get their casinos back to try and fix them would be to grease his palms. That was, as I understand it, done, but still, the damage was unfixable.
So, for Trump to walk away from the debacles, plural, he has caused in our democracy, he would need assurances that if he resigned, say, in a month from now, that a party hack, say JD or even Rubio, as VP, would rise to the Presidency and pardon him and his gang from any and all crimes.
He then goes to Mar a Lago rich as hell, laughing all the way.
If Alito or Thomas resigns soon he can put JD, who is a lawyer, in that seat and Rubio as VP.
