"Former Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen and his deputy Richard Donoghue testified to the House Select Committee that Donald Trump repeatedly pressured them to sign and send a letter to state legislatures.

The letter falsely claimed the Justice Department had identified election concerns and urged states to choose a slate of alternate electors.

Trump specifically told DOJ leadership, "Just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican Congressmen," according to Donoghue's contemporaneous notes.

Rosen and Donoghue refused to sign the document, concluding there was no factual or legal basis to do so. Further investigations and congressional records detail the scope of this pressure:"
