Congress should be working around the clock to lower costs, address the affordability crisis, and confront the existential threat of AI. Instead, Speaker Johnson is sending Republicans home early to campaign in a last-ditch attempt to salvage his failing majority. It's disgusting.

It is a bit weird, actually, because one might be tempted to think a self-advertised smart guy with a history of six yuge bankruptcies and 34 felony convictions for financial crimes might have learned a bit more about how this ... stuff ... actually werks.

It also means America will be paying more to borrow money.

Debt service is America's largest budgetary item. Bigger than defense, even.

All thanks to Republican tax cuts and spending like sailors on stuff that doesn't help average Americans in the least.

Bush & GOP began this road with annual deficits of over $1 Trillion. They more than doubled our national debt, and created systemic deficits.

Trump I & II have been a financial disaster. Current year deficit is projected to be over TWO TRILLION DOLLARS!
