Glad the Trumper lost. Huge win for California and for the United States. Not that it was ever close.
This particular Republican did maybe five points worse than the average Republican.
Thank Trump for that.

Steve Hilton didn't have a chance in hell of winning the election.

Spencer Pratt should have run for governor instead of mayor of Los Angeles. He would have preformed better.

But overall, California failed. There were some measures on the ballot billionaires spent half a billion on defeating and they succeeded.

... There were cheers and happy tears at election parties from New Mexico to Georgia late Tuesday once it became clear voters had elected the country's first Black female governor, the first Native American female governor, the first Native female senator and the first openly gay male U.S. senator.

By early Wednesday, the first Muslim U.S. senator was also added to the list of barrier-breaking milestones.

The astonishing blue wave also means the United States will likely have its first-ever Black speaker of the House.

Most of these firsts are Democrats, but the GOP has also broken some new ground. ...

The wealth tax is not an elegant solution. The better thing is to close the wealthy-people-only loopholes.
I'm kinda glad California didn't pass this. It makes Gavin Newsom's Presidential Rum seem less kooky by association.
Newsom's Presidential run is desperate to ride the blue wave today, with his commutation of those death row inmates.

Bingo.

And maybe to start by rehiring all those IRS auditors that DOGE laid off, auditors who had shown to create more revenue than their cost.

Of course, perhaps that success is why DOGE cancelled their jobs?

If I were the newly elected Governor of California I would be taking a moment to try and get my bearings...getting and keeping the people unified is going to be tough, and the Republican Party is going to be obstructionistic all the way.
