The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) informs: Kraft Heinz Foods Company, a Newberry, SC, establishment, is recalling approximately 367,812 pounds of fully cooked turkey bacon products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes (Lm). The turkey bacon was produced from 24 Apr through 11 Jun 2025. Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. An invasive infection spreads beyond the gastrointestinal tract. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn. In addition, serious and sometimes fatal infections occur in older adults and persons with weakened immune systems. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics. Read more

The Israeli military used a 500lb (230kg) bomb, a powerful and indiscriminate weapon that generates a massive blast wave and scatters shrapnel over a wide area, when it attacked a target in a crowded beachfront cafe in Gaza on Monday. Between 24 and 36 Palestinians were killed in the attack on the cafe and dozens more were injured. The dead included a well-known film-maker and an artist. Experts in international law said the use of such a munition despite the known presence of many unprotected civilians, including children, women and elderly people, was almost certainly unlawful and may constitute a war crime. Fragments of the weapon from the ruins of al-Baqa cafe have been identified by ordnance experts as parts of an MK-82 general purpose 230kg bomb, a powerful US-made bomb. An IDF spokesperson said the attack on the cafe was under review and that "prior to the strike, steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians using aerial surveillance." Read more

Police in Savannah, Georgia, are responding to a mall shooting that left "several victims," the department said on Wednesday. The incident occurred at Oglethorpe Mall, located on the south side of the city. Multiple agencies were dispatched to the scene. This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

Police in Westbrook Maine have apologized after being caught lying to the public after posting an AI-generated photo on social media of purported evidence seized during a drug bust. Members of the public quickly began questioning the obviously manipulated photo shortly after it was posted. That prompted the department to reply that "We want to set the record straight " this is NOT an AI-generated photo." A few days later the post was removed and replaced with a public apology acknowledging that the department had attempted to use an AI-powered photo editor to add their logo to an image taken from a drug bust and failed to realize that the app had made other significant changes to the image.

The mayor of Hiroshima has called on President Donald Trump to visit the site of the 1945 atomic bombing after the president drew a parallel between the nuclear attacks that ended World War II and recent U.S. airstrikes on Iran.

President Donald Trump seemed to stumble when responding to a reporter's question during a press conference in Florida on Tuesday, where he had traveled for the opening of "Alligator Alcatraz," a controversial detention facility designed to accommodate migrants. When asked how long detainees are expected to remain at the detention center, the president replied, "I'm gonna spend a lot. This is my home state. I love it. I'll spend a lot of time here," sidestepping the actual question. Journalist Mike Rothschild said: "He's obviously losing his cognition and coherence in a way that's becoming impossible to cover up or work around. And the more he declines, the more his sycophants prop him up as doing 'better than ever.' It's an unsustainable situation that could easily end in chaos." Read more

The University of Pennsylvania will block transgender athletes from female sports teams and erase the records set by swimmer Lia Thomas as part of an agreement with the federal government, the Department of Education said. The agreement comes as part of the Trump administration's broader restrictions on transgender people, as it steps up its efforts to ban transgender athletes from competing in women's sports nationwide and serving in the military. Rep. Keith Self (RTexas) said Monday President Donald Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill," which Republicans are aiming to pass by the president's selfimposed July 4 deadline, was "fiscally criminal." In a post on the social platform X, Self wrote: "The House was clear: no new deficit spending. The Senate isn't listening"their version adds over $1T to the deficit, completely ignoring the House framework. This isn't just reckless"it's fiscally criminal."

President Trump threatened NYC Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani with arrest, should he be elected and follow through with a campaign promise to "stop masked ICE agents from deporting our neighbors." Trump said the DOJ would react swiftly to any such obstruction to ICE's operations. "Well then, we'll have to arrest him. Look, we don't need a communist in this country, but if we have one, I'm going to be watching over him very carefully on behalf of the nation," Trump warned. The comments are Trump's latest attack on Mamdani, who he called a "total nut job." "A lot of people are saying he's here illegally," Trump smearing him without evidence. Trump threatened to withhold federal funding from New York if, should Mamdani be elected mayor, he didn't "behave himself." "If he does get in, I'm going to be president, and he's going to have to do the right thing, or they're not getting any money. He's got to do the right thing or they're not getting any money." "It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country " the PORKY PIG PARTY!!" Musk wrote on X Monday afternoon as the Senate continued to consider the House-passed spending bill. "Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people," Musk added.

On Tuesday, New York City's Democrat voters chose as their nominee for mayor, Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, who ran on a socialist platform that at times made Sen. Bernie Sanders look like an editor at National Review. Among the insane socialist programs Mamdani has floated are city owned grocery stores just like in Cuba, replacing police with social workers, and a freeze on rents, this goes along with his toxic stance that Israel has no right to exist as a Jewish state.
