Federal prosecutors on Wednesday moved to dismiss criminal charges against a woman accused of fraud in Florida who was being represented in court by Brad Bondi, the brother of Attorney General Pam Bondi. The Biden Justice Department filed a criminal complaint against Carolina Amesty, a former Republican lawmaker, in mid-January -- just days before President Donald Trump took office. Amesty faced two counts of theft of government property related to COVID relief fraud and, if convicted, faced a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison. But on Wednesday morning, Brad Bondi claimed in court papers that "counsel for Ms. Amesty learned [last month] that the government had ceased its criminal investigation ... and withdrew its outstanding subpoenas."
When Congress passed the Clean Air Act in 1970, climate change wasn't on anyone's mind. Yet under an Obama-era decision known as the "Endangerment Finding," the Environmental Protection Agency has claimed authority under the act to micromanage large parts of the American economy in the name of combating global warming. A new Trump administration proposal to reverse the Endangerment Finding returns the Clean Air Act to its original purpose, marking the end of a failed effort to control the climate through executive fiat.

He was in South Africa on safari last Sunday, pursuing a 3,000lb Cape Buffalo bull in thick bush. Without warning, the buffalo burst from cover at 35mph and fatally struck Watkins, killing him almost instantly.

US Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is being criminally investigated for possible mortgage fraud. The Federal Housing Finance Agency made a criminal referral to the DOJ, accusing Schiff of altering bank documents and property records in several cases to secure more favorable loan terms. Schiff allegedly has claimed both his Burbank and Maryland homes as his primary residences in order to get more favorable mortgage rates. FHFA Director William Pulte said, "Based on media reports, Mr. Adam B. Schiff has, in multiple instances, falsified bank documents and property records to acquire more favorable loan terms, impacting payments from 2003-2019 for a Potomac, MD-based property. As regulator of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and the Federal Home Loan Banks, we take very seriously allegations of mortgage fraud or other criminal activity.
