Trump Announces Tom Homan will Serve as 'border czar'

President-elect Donald Trump says that Tom Homan, his former acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement director, will serve as "border czar" in his incoming administration.

In addition to overseeing the southern and northern borders and "maritime, and aviation security," Trump said Homan "will be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin," a central part of his agenda.

In an interview on Fox News Channel's "Sunday Morning Futures," Homan said the military would not be rounding up and arresting immigrants in the country illegally and that ICE would move to implement Trump's plans in a "humane manner."

"It's going to be a well-targeted, planned operation conducted by the men of ICE. The men and women of ICE do this daily. They're good at it," he said. "When we go out there, we're going to know who we're looking for. We most likely know where they're going to be, and it's going to be done in a humane manner."

My response: Oh, well.

Sorry but those who voted for him , many of them immigrants, deserve what's coming to them. They think they are different and they're about to find out. At this point, it's consequences or they will never understand.

On Sunday, Tom Homan, the one-time cop and former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) under Trump, appeared on 60 Minutes to sell the plan as not potentially catastrophic. Homan, the "architect" of family separation who said he didn't "give a ----" about being sued over the infamous practice, has been defiantly positioning himself as the man to get the job done.

"Trump comes back in January, I'll be on his heels coming back, and I will run the biggest deportation force this country has ever seen," he said at the National Conservatism conference in Washington, DC, in July. "They ain't seen ---- yet. Wait until 2025."

To detain immigrants before carrying out their deportations, Miller said the Trump administration would build massive holding facilities that could accommodate between 50,000 to 70,000 people at any given time. Such an undertaking, he said, "would be greater than any national infrastructure project we've done to date."

A mass deportation of the scale Trump and Homan have been touting would likely have the same result. And as immigration experts have noted, such a plan would negatively impact mixed-status households, potentially tearing families apart. To that, Homan offered an alternative. "Is there a way to carry out mass deportation without separating families?" Vega asked. "Of course there is," Homan said. "Families can be deported together."

Imma just gonna put this here:

Being pro choice is not promoting abortions. It means it's not the Government s place to be in the private decisions of a woman and her doctor full stop.

You're kind, Laura.
I look at the ignorance of that statement of Oneironaut and think "I hope you never have to live through a miscarriage or other issue where you unnecessarily lose your wife, daughter, grand daughter, or any other loved one because moral absolutists decided your choices for you."

"Notably, Homan was one of the architects behind its controversial family separation policy.

More than 5,500 children of immigrants were separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border in 2018 under the administration's short-lived "Zero Tolerance" policy. According to the Department of Homeland Security, as of April, there were still 1,401 children without confirmed reunification."

I know that Commies are bad, but they came into power after deposing the Czars, who themselves were not the best. Why are we using the title Czar? Isn't that a bad thing?

Why are we using the title Czar?

It's also an informal title given to some senior government officials. Usually assigned by the media.

You live in Russia now. What do you expect?

I strongly urge Homan to establish a "hotline" where legal, taxpaying citizens can report where to find the criminals sucking the life out of our cities and towns.

I'll state now for future evidence in any debate...

Tom Homan is the border czar.

If I ever try to walk that back in a debate with Tony, please use this against me.
