All they can do is more of the same. The existential crisis with the Palestinians was created by the Israeli's themselves.

Any release of pressure will cause the Palestinians to rise up in an Intafada the likes of which has never been seen before.

Continuing the Repression is the only way to hold the status quo together.

I wish it was different. UN Peacekeepers could possibly make a difference.

But the commitment would have to be decades long and would be politically unpopular with the US and Israelis.

At bottom, the Jews seem to like Oppressing the Palestinians, it makes them feel Strong and in control.

But of course that's mostly illusion.

Circumstances can change. If they do and Israel finds itself vulnerable they will regret everything.

I agree they are in a similar predicament and can't escape from having to hold it all together too.

War is usually a mistake. Repression can't be lifted without societies blowing apart. Especially if the religion and cultures are different or at odds.

Overall, Israel is more effed up than Russia or Ukraine. More Dangerous even, to the world.

What's mainly different is the Eastern third of Ukraine seems to be Ok with Russia taking over.

Palestine has been a nightmare for the Israeli's Since they first started settlements there.
