US Gaza Pier Breaks Apart

The US-constructed pier off Gaza broke apart on Tuesday due to heavy seas, suspending aid deliveries indefinitely, in the latest setback for the disastrous project that was ordered by President Biden.

The Pentagon said that the pier, which cost $320 million for the US to build, was damaged and sections of it need to be repaired.

Good thing we didn't have anything else useful to do with that money besides help feed Hamas.

Can't get food to aid agencies when the pier works, it's looted in route by palestinian black marketeers. The logistics chain to get food to the most needy hadn't worked yet.

Satellite photos of the pier breaking apart in the aftermath of a storm seem to disagree with you.

And US soldiers in 3 army ships that were grounded by those heavy seas but were not allowed to leave their vessels because Biden promised no troops in the ground.

US aid is not a lie. Just not very effective in a war zone controlled by Israel that is thousands of miles from our shores.

Since the pier was "completed" on April 8th it's been allegedly attacked by Hamas and hasn't made any deliveries to civilians.

I doubt everything. The chop was too rough. Hamas is attacking the pier. US is not operating with IDF inside of Gaza.

The pier apparently broke apart 3 days after the storm damaged it.

So weather reports in the day it broke may have indicated clear weather but with heavy seas.

Blame Biden and Dems all you want for this but building anything in a hotly military-contested region and this can happen. The funds weren't enough and getting resources and engineers there was more about safety than it was about functionality. No Rep could have done any better.
