Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, July 06, 2024

Liberals on the Wisconsin Supreme Court cleared the way Friday for the use of absentee-ballot drop boxes, changing the rules for voting four months before the presidential election and reversing a decision made by conservatives two years ago when they controlled the court. ... Ballot drop boxes were available for years in some Wisconsin communities, and their use was greatly expanded for the 2020 presidential election as voters turned to absentee voting because of the covid-19 pandemic.

Democrats will do anything to win elections, just as they gave us a clueless Joe Biden who hid in the basement as a candidate in 2020. From day #1 Biden refused to expose his policies to media and all Americans and demonstrated a total lack of ability.

Well, I think every dropbox should be monitored, and everyone dropping off multiple ballots should be investigated.

That said, once the investigation shows the family members agreed the younger brother should drop off their ballots, then everyone involved should admit the election was fair and legal.

Meanwhile, Republicans still can't admit the results of the last presidential election.

These are not the same as the boxes used in 2020. Those boxes had narrow slot so you could only stuff 10 ballots at a time. The new ones have a lid that opens at the top and you can stuff them with bundles of fake votes.

No, you can't.

Because fake votes don't grow on trees.

Hey conservative old white man of average intelligence for conservative old white men,

How do you think they get the ballots OUT of the narrow slot drop boxes when it's time to count?

#9 | Posted by snoofy at 2024-07-07 01:52 PM | Reply

Technically they never needed to remove them since they had a count of the votes as they manufactured them. But, to answer your question, they had a door on the back with a combination padlock. The code was 1234.

Ballot harvesting...

There are reasons where it can be considered appropriate. However, there are circumstances it is not.

Suppose I go door to door or someplace there are people who have never voted.

These people may not know much about politics or political parties or issues.

I'll give a scenario. I encounter 10 people who are not informed about issues and have never voted. I give them all a ballot and tell them why they need to vote for X. All 10 mark the box for X and I collect their ballots.

This may be legal in some states but there comes the question of ethics. If may be legal but is it ethical?

Including myself did 11 people vote or did I vote 11 times?

That's a rhetorical question because I can already quess what some posters would say.

This problem of ballot harvesting would be difficult to catch by recounts or prove or even considered illegal in states.

My opinion is this is neither ethical nor democracy in action.

Leave the real world to people who live in it.

There aren't just ballots lying around for anyone to hand out, unless you're an election worker at a polling place.

Ballots aren't like the magazine subscription cards in magazines.

It's not wrong for the postman to "harvest" all the ballots in the neighborhood.

It's not wrong to help people vote, as long as you don't make their choices for them.

Clown,

"back at it with his conspiracy theories."

This has nothing to do with conspiracies.

This is nothing but ethics.

Regardless who the party is, it's cheating the system.

Anyone who would support this and the claim to believe in democracy is a liar and a hypocrite.

I'll give you a scenario.

Pastor at a talibaptist church tells everyone to vote for Trump.

Does that conflict with separation of church and state?

Snoofy,

I figured your post would show up soon.

Do you not comprehend English?

That's the point. You DID make the choice for them in this scenario.

I believe it occurred in 2020 probably more than we know and likely from both parties.

But mostly Democrats.

You mean should the votes of the uninformed count?

You've described voting since the invention of voting

Christ our country is the hands of people like this!?!

Imagine if you will, a person whose very concept of voting is based on his own imagination. Imagine if that person made broad claims yet could NEVER produce evidence to support his claims. Imagine if dozens of people refuted his claims with facts and he refused to change his mind. Imagine if that person, being exposed to all of those facts continued to be adamant in his belief in wrongdoing. Imagine if you will, a Computer Scientist, who develops theories but refuses to test them. Imagine if that person actually voted.

Should that person be allowed to vote?

No, I mean like the half-dozen corrupt routes being taken by Trump and the Republicans, which folks like you have refused to even ACKNOWLEDGE since J6.

For example: how many corrupt routes can you list?

And now you've got at least 10 people, all witness to your crime. If any of them come forward, or their friends or families they've told came forward, that would be front page news.

And all for 10 votes.

@#11 ... This problem of ballot harvesting would be difficult to catch by recounts or prove or even considered illegal in states. ...

There was an example of improper use of ballot drop boxes here in Connecticut. In Bridgeport (no surprise at the location if you live in Connecticut...).

Long story short here's the result ...

Five Years Later, Charges Filed In Bridgeport Ballot Stuffing Incidents
ctnewsjunkie.com

...The Chief State's Attorney announced Tuesday afternoon that four campaign workers involved in the 2019 Bridgeport Democratic mayoral primary have been charged in connection with the misuse of absentee ballots.

Chief State's Attorney Patrick J. Griffin has charged Alfredo Castillo, 52, Wanda Geter-Pataky, 67, Nilsa Heredia, 61, and Josephine Edmonds, 62, all of Bridgeport, with unlawful possession of absentee ballots and other election-related violations. Three of the four suspects also are charged with tampering with a witness. All four defendants were released on promises to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on June 24.

According to the Chief's State's Attorney's office, Geter-Pataky is accused of failing to sign as an assister on an absentee ballot application that she had filled out on behalf of a prospective voter. Geter-Pataky is also charged with misrepresenting eligibility requirements for voting by absentee ballot for reportedly telling a citizen not to vote in person and that she would pick up the citizen's absentee ballot. The citizen later told investigators with the State Elections Enforcement Commission (SEEC) that the defendant told her not to speak to anyone about the matter.

Heredia is accused of instructing prospective voters on which candidate to select on their absentee ballots and misrepresented eligibility requirements for voting by absentee ballot. It also says she admitted to investigators that she did not submit an absentee ballot distribution list to the City of Bridgeport Clerk's Office. ...

There was video of the ballot boxes being stuffed.

As a result of this, a new law just took effect here in Connecticut...

New State Laws Effective This Month

... Mandatory video cameras at absentee ballot drop boxes to help ensure election security ...

@#30 ... Yeah as evident by all of the republicans being arrested for election fraud ...

That is the part that makes all the GOP protestations so hard to believe.

It seems to be mostly Republicans who have committed election (voter) fraud in the recent past.

@#33 ... It works on your [i.e., GOP] loyalists and they don't even understand why. ...

Yup.

That is the curious part. The GOP loyalists who buy into it seem to be so determined to prevent those evil Democrats from voting because of election (voting) fraud, without even acknowledging that since 2020 it has been mostly Republicans who have been accused (and convicted?) of election (voting) fraud. Yet those GOP loyalists do not even realize how they are being used by the GOP elite.

So, now the House GOP seems to want to pass laws that don't target the actual, proven problem (and by "proven" I mean, tried and convicted in a Court of Law), but seem to want to stop some imagined problem ( drudge.com ) for which they present no evidence it occurs.

Ballot drop boxes work because of ballot harvesting. Between 2012 and 2016, black support for Democrats and Hillary collapsed. This does not mean they voted for Trump, but it means MANY stayed home in key swing states - that is why Hillary's vote total equalled that of Obama despite the increase in voter participation by ~2%.

The Democrats came up with a brilliant solution to this problem in 2020 - as they have no policies to actually encourage blacks to vote for them (which would be hard), they just skip the middle man and harvest the votes in their households. While they WOULD NOT have bothered to show up for in person voting, they were okay with letting their votes being harvested due to social pressure in their households and communities - because I promise you, there is no way they are filling in for the GOP with the vote harvester or their mother looking over their shoulder as black females are the single most reliable Democrat voting block outside of dead people.
