Project 2025 was let out of the bag, with all it's promises of widespread repression and violence should the nation's majority not acceded to it.
It's too late to put that rabid cat back in the back.
Trump needs to be hit over the head with that diseased feline every day until election.

That's pretty much the issue here.
Fmr Pres Trump supported Project 2025 before he didn't support it.
Once Project 2025 became widely known and understood for what it is, the resulting backlash against it caused fmr Pres Trump to deny even knowing about its existence.
I have to ask, that if fmr Pres trump feigns backing away from it, just how bad is it?

It's America's version of de-Baathification.
For example: civil service jobs will be for loyalists. At this point, blacks are over-represented (18%, v 12% of populace) in the civil service. They'll be cut out, because they went 90% Harris.
That's a recipe for social unrest ... which is an excuse for totalitarianism.

I agree that the GOP has been whining about this sort of thing for a long time.
But Project 2025 is a specific 900 page treatise that details how to achieve those ends.

What Project 2025 is an amalgamation of all of the insane, mean, religious whackery, tax the poor and enrich the rich schemes that the republicans have been trying to enact for decades.
It has been conveniently enough put in a report that American's can address through short-hand because that is all that American's attention span can deal with.
But make no mistake, if taken individually right wing nutjobs would get support from the mouth breathers around here as it "really isnt that bad"

... and all that "insane, mean, religious whackery, tax the poor and enrich the rich schemes" has been put into a 900-page HowTo treatise, because prior efforts to enable that aim did not seem to work.
That's the difference here with Project 2025.
I am not saying that we have not heard this phlegm before.
I am saying that the impetus behind that phlegm has not been this organized before, complete with a 900-page HowTo.

25% tax cut for people with income over $500,000
25% tax INCREASE for people with income under $45,000 and 50% tax INCREASE for people with income under $11,000.
Chapter 25 of the project's "Mandate for Leadership," states, "The Treasury should work with Congress to simplify the tax code by enacting a simple two-rate individual tax system of 15 percent and 30 percent that eliminates most deductions, credits and exclusions."

These people are what Trump refers to as "the deep state." Influence and power peddlers who pull the strings of those who are elected.
And Trump just burned a big one for the right because he's probably angry that his chances are being hurt by this document.
My guess is that if Trump wins, he'll try to cozy back up to them, they'll go along and flatter him and say what he wants to hear, but the moment he's no longer needed he'll get 25A'd.
Trump still thinks it's about Trump. He's yet to realize he's just the demagogue face to their power grab.

Of all the Trump flailing over the past 10 days, nothing was quite as comical, nonsensical, and ineffectual as yesterday's big push to try to shove Project 2025 " the centerpiece of MAGA world's planning for a Trump II presidency " down the memory hole.
