Elon Musk's X announced it will be pulling operations out of Brazil on Saturday, citing an order ... which imposes a fine on the company for allowing accounts that spread misinformation on its platform

Elon bought Twitter so he could spread lies and misinformation.

There's no way he's going to stop now.

Meanwhile, X seems to be having issues making money.

So the way to resolve that in Mr Musk's view, apparently to reduce revenue sources.

Maybe Mr Musk's next target will be to cut X off from users in the United States?

The problem with misinformation in cases like this is, who gets to decide what misinformation is. Elon made the correct move again. Too bad people will lose jobs because their government is ran by tyrants.

The constitution is not a suicide pact.

Even speech has its limitations.

Speech that is intended to incite people to break the law, such as committing violence, is not protected by the First Amendment.

Speech that is intended to harm the interests of the United States, aid its enemies, or pose a threat to human lives can be restricted.

If speech relates to a matter of public concern, the government can balance its interests against the employee's First Amendment rights. For example, the government can consider its interests in efficiency, workplace harmony, and employee performance.

Other categories of speech that are not protected by the First Amendment include defamation, fraud, obscenity, child pornography, and fighting words.

But you knew all that because you are an American who learned it in a basic civics class.

Right?

It most certainly is.

The Constitution meaning of free speech is pf political ideas, without fear of government retaliation.

But you didn't know that because you are an American who wasn't taught it in a basic civics class.

Right?

Maybe Mr Musk's next target will be to cut X off from users in the United States?

Tell me you're afraid of ideas without telling me you're afraid of ideas.

You should move to China, I swear you guys are going to love it there, until you don't.

"The Constitution meaning of free speech is pf political ideas, without fear of government retaliation."

I didn't know that because I have no idea what that means.

What does "pf political ideas" mean ... in English please.

And I clearly explained the situations in which speech can be limited. Being new here do you have any questions about that comrade?

And no ... the constitution is not a suicide pact.

China is a beautiful country with wonderful people and culture and an incredible and interesting history.

It's just too bad I won't ever get to visit it now because of the direction it's government has taken.

Musk loves it there. The rich control the flow of information. Just how he wants it.

The more 1LumpOfCrap talks about China, the more obvious it is he hasn't a clue about the country.

Well it's painfully obvious that doesn't have a clue about this one either.

Why?

Saying "XYZ" does not violate the law.

What weirdo.

What a childish person you are.

Just be honest with yourself and everyone else. You would love to overly regulate X because you view it as a conservative-leaning platform. You're also a crybaby who got mad because all of those suspended accounts got to come back after the purchase.

You're not only childish about this, you're also dishonest.

The dishonest one is musk, who claimed to be buying twitter for free speech, when it turned out he just wanted to be the unaccountable censor.

"What a childish person you are."

Yes I childishly pointed out the situations where the Supreme Court has determined that speech can be limited (post 9). So childish of me!

"You would love to overly regulate X because you view it as a conservative-leaning platform"

I want X/Twitter to be "regulated" just like the every other American is. (Again see post 9).

...

You're not only childish about this, you're also dishonest.

I can see that it upsets you that I have been completely honest. But do feel free to point out where I have lied (like I do to you all the time) or even where I am wrong (like I do to you all the time).

Also still waiting to hear why saying "XYZ" violated the law.

" XYZ" is filler for whatever it is that bothers you. Fill in the blank, child.

Musk constantly lies and gaslights and tries to provoke violence, just like his buddy Donald Trump. Then, when anybody complains about his dishonesty, he acts like he gives a crap about "free speech."

No wonder the righties on this site love him.
