There are at least a couple of species of mammals where both the males and females produce milk. This suggests that ------- and mammary glands are not an inherent a sex trait, but they're vestigial in males because at one point they were an evolutionary backup in case the females were either too sick or died from childbirth in order to keep the newborn offspring alive.
