Little-known fact: Gary Gilmore's last words were not "Let's do it."

AI-generated (originally from Norman Mailer's book):

Thomas Meersman, the Catholic prison chaplain, administered the last rites to Gilmore. After the prison physician cloaked him in a black hood, Gilmore uttered his last words to Meersman: "Dominus vobis---" (Latin, translation: "The Lord be with you"). Meersman replied, "Et --- spiritu tuo" ("And with your spirit").

Each member of a firing squad is anonymously given a powerful blank round so he can think he didn't kill the prisoner. Idaho and Utah are considering the return of firing squads as well. America is truly showing itself to be a genuinely Christian and civilized nation.

He beat to death the parents of his ex-girlfriend with a baseball bat, then kidnapped his ex.

He's getting off light.

Maybe.

But you do see the telltale sign of sadistic MAGA culture?

When they figure out that being drawn and quartered is nastier way to dispatch someone, that method will find its advocates.

This whole Trump/Musk/DOGE thing.

Just sadistic. Intentionally sadistic.

Everyone knows that if they were serious about "waste and fraud" they knew of better and more effective approaches.

Instead they go about jerking people's chains in regards to livelihood. Gleefully.

Not the same as execution by firing squad, I know.

But the number of ordinary people who blow their own brains out because of it will be considerable.
