"You don't need to be a military expert to know that what the administration did is unconscionable any more than you need to be a meteorologist to know that the sky is blue. It requires only a willingness to speak honestly about serious matters."
That task is evidently beyond the ability of the members of our national security team. Instead, they have lied. They have mocked. The national security adviser, Michael Waltz, has called Mr. Goldberg "scum," even though Mr. Goldberg took more care with sensitive military information than Mr. Waltz did. The head of the F.B.I. has not promised an investigation. Mr. Trump dismissed the affair as a "witch hunt." They have treated this as a media event to be spun rather than a grievous error to be rectified.

"They have behaved, in short, like people without honor"
That's why Republicans identify with them so strongly.

Yes, Trump and is people are arrogant, stupid, and lazy.
And, yes, the will get servicemen killed.
And, yes, eventually just a f--- load of innocent American citizens.

Face it. Hegseth is playing a game where he tries to stay drunk and not get caught.
The man needs AA, not to be in the Pentagon.

The Wall Street Journal (29 Mar 2025) reported that USSECDEF Pete Hellsbreath brought his wife, a former Fox News producer, to two meetings with foreign military counterparts where sensitive information was discussed. In true nepotistic fashion, Hellsbreath also hired his brother Philip as a senior adviser. Jennifer Hellsbreath is seen below seated behind her drunkard spouse:

Does Pugnacious Pete have a minder who monitors his behavior vis a vis booze? I'm curious, because both he and Kennedy, a decades-long heroin junkie, act conspicuously weird, even for members of a Trump cabinet.

It's a toss up as to whether he is more evil or more incompetent.
Together a dangerous mix indeed.

I fully expect this type of goonish incompetence to permeate the entire Trump administration for the duration. Mainly because Trump himself is no better.
We have Goonies running the country.

One aspect I find interesting is that the Trump admin won't comply with a Judge's order requesting information about the Venezuelan deportations because that information is "secret."
But having an insecure group-chat (one of many such chats?) detailing imminent attack plans, and possibly putting our military members at risk, is quite OK?

@#12 ... Mainly because Trump himself is no better. ...
Yup.
Indeed, Pres Trump seems actively to encourage such incompetence with his "loyalty over competence" picks for senior-level positions.

The Goonies were mostly good kids.
They just really needed that treasure from One-Eyed-Willy.
And these Trumplican clowns got nothing on the Pinchers of Peril!
They are more like the bumbling Fratelli crime family and Elmo is like Chunk and they finally let him out of the basement.

Servicemen killed? Non of the targets were listed. And if they were Goldberg would have called them ahead of time to warn them which would have cost lives. And we all know that Goldberg would rather have that if it gave him a chance to crap on Trump.
