Tragic occurrence. In FL, it's perhaps best to assume (unless otherwise is clearly the case) that fresh water areas are highly likely to host gators; brackish water may conceal both gators and salt water crocs. It's borderline Jurassic Park.

Hi Doc: Not a complex issue, right? BTW: Recently a bear killed a man and his dog in Jerome, FL (Collier County) and a shark killed a swimmer in Israel for the first time: i.pinimg.com

Florida seems like a good place to go kill your spouse.

Does this guy offer canoe trips and tours to the public? For maybe $75,000 a passenger?
Asking for a friend.

The article says the husband tried fighting it off.
Or was his oar pushing her closer to the alligator's mouth? :-)
(Expect alligators to be in fresh water anywhere in Florida)

I've kayaked and hiked past plenty of gators in Florida. They always seem disinterested if not scared of me.
