Trump Bars AP from White House Despite Court Order

Despite a court order, a reporter and photographer from The Associated Press were barred from an Oval Office news conference on Monday with President Donald Trump and his counterpart from El Salvador, Nayib Bukele.

Despite a court order, Donald Trump is still refusing to allow journalists from the Associated Press into the White House press pool. This is a direct assault on the First Amendment, free speech, and freedom of the press.

"The dispute stems from AP's decision not to follow the president's executive order to rename the Gulf of Mexico, although AP style does cite Trump's wish that it be called the Gulf of America.

The AP argued " and U.S. District Judge Trevor N. McFadden agreed last week " that the government cannot punish the news organization for exercising its right to free speech."

I disagree with what they are doing with the AP. As far as I can tell it is not a violation of the Constitution. AP's 1st amendment rights are not being infringed. Nevertheless this is petty AF.

It is always interesting, and somethings sadly humorous, to see MAGA supporters trying to justify the actions of Pres Trump, when if Pres Obama or Pres Biden had done anything even resolutely similar, the right-wing media propaganda sites would have lit up.
