Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

China hasn't imported liquefied natural gas from the United States since early February, as the tariff war hit energy trade and could have long-term consequences for U.S. LNG export contracts.

China just ended US LNG imports. Those imports only represented 3% of the LNG actually going into China BUT Chinese companies "accounted for 91% of worldwide purchases of LNG on long-term contracts." So all eyes on Europe. Reminder: LNG = climate wrecking ball www.nytimes.com/2025/04/18/b ...

It's okay though. We will surely makeup the shortfall in the China market, 15% of global GDP, with the Indonesia market which makes up... checks notes... 1.3% of the global economy.

Indonesia has become the latest country to agree to boost imports of U.S. goods to avoid crippling tariffs for its exports.

Too bad China stopped buying natural gas from the US, there's a lot of here in DR thanks to the trolls and Republicans.

So yet ANOTHER thing that will lead to an IMMEDIATE recession in my huge block of MAGA Texas.

I think that there may be some panic buying after all.

Yeah. Trump has gotten in us into a big expensive ugly fight that neither China nor the US can win. ALL OF US are now beginning to pay the financial price and it is only going to get extremely worse. To say nothing about the stock market...

Thanks uneducated, cultist MAGAs sheep.

I will wait for 6 months for the data to actually come out - my guess, real wages will continue to increase as inflation does not happen due to tariffs.

#13 Google stagflation. Sounds like you got one of them trump U economics degrees.

Yes, every Democrat is very clear with their predictions. And Canadians like yourself know all too well about stagflation as that is what you have experienced for over a decade under the blackface wearing, closeted Fuhrer Trudeau. I will wait 6 months and then shove the actual results in your face. Over the next 6 months, get ready for the following headlines (continuation of March) - High Job Growth Surprises Experts, High Retail Sales Growth Surprises Experts, and Low Inflation Surprises Experts.

You are massively underestimating China and the rest of the world - and massively overestimating the US.

Gonna be fun to watch :)

Not so much fun live in the US :(

Meh.

I think BC starts shipping LNG later this year. That project has been in the works for about 10 years now.

China has already lost. Ocean freight prices are down 40% from China and routes are being shuttered. Factories are idled and they will miss any production for US holidays - those orders would need to be placed now to ship in time. At the same time, the EU is placing preemptive anti-dumping rulings against China.

Meanwhile in the US - Chinese decoupling does not impact US citizens except bringing back manufacturing jobs. BTW, shipping prices from Vietnam are up nearly 50% as all the Chinese production shifts south.

Strange you know more about whats happening in the US than what is happening in Canada.

And what is about to happen other than the globalist looking stupid when none of their predictions come true and Xi bends over?

As soon as a loss for us isn't viewed as a win for Putin, who Trump is actually working for. Americans, especiallt MAGAs are so slow to see the reality right in front of them. Orange Hitler doesn't even hide it well.
