Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, April 24, 2025

Congressional Republicans in both chambers passed a resolution to cut at least $880 billion from the budget through 2034. Because Medicaid accounts for approximately 93% of non-Medicare funding, the program is expected to absorb the overwhelming share of these reductions. The cuts to Medicaid would result in widespread coverage losses, which could lead to 15,400 deaths due to work reporting requirements or roughly 34,200 deaths from reduced federal funding each year. With the GOP, the greedy American oligarchs below are aiding and abetting in what Friedrich Engels called "social murder."

Trump/MAGA figures on dead innocents as the cost of doing business; or satisfying Trump's ego.

If you think this is bad, wait until Trump's war.

Trump's insanity, his obvious megalomania, will ensure a war. More than one.

He doesn't see American citizens as being human beings. Hell, he doesn't even believe in the concept of "American citizen".

How bad can it get? No one with any genuine interest in history has to ask that question.

#1: Good Morning Zed: Concur, these cuts will be terrible for poor Americans. Elect a sociopath to be President, expect sociopathic behavior. But the Trumpf junta already started the war by bombing the starving (Shia) Houthis on behalf of war criminal Bibi Netanyahu and murderous (Sunni) Muhammad Bin Salman. Basically only the press from the Middle East is reporting about the US military atrocities that have cost the American taxpayer one billion dollars with little to nothing accomplished except Murder-Death-Kill. Yes, you are right of course. Trump wages war on the Houthis.

But I know that he has set his ambitions much higher.

Trump can't feel important unless he makes people bleed. His financial sociopathy only spells metaphorical blood. He's thirsty for the real thing.

#4: Agree, Trumpf delights in causing other people's miseries: Megalomaniacal schadenfreude.

The Shock and Awe phase is just about over.

Now we enter the slog phase . Where we slowly slog thru these issues in the courts while the People take to the streets.

It's nice to follow a conversation here without all the idiot mouthbreathers chiming a bunch of BS nonsense in.

Killing poor people so rich people can be richer.

How masculine.

I think it's going to be much higher. Most rural hospitals are heavily reliant on Medicaid funds, the same is true of nursing homes. These rural heathcare deserts will be exacerbated by the MAGAt party killing their own constituents because gawd forbid they don't deliver billionairs their tax cuts. Next up, the David Caradine version of Death Race, where the hospitals and nursing homes wheeled their patients into the street to be run down by the racers. MAGAts are pure scum.

The majority of Americans want national healthcare. Republicans are gutting Medicare.

Best of luck America. Future generations are going to feel the impact of this shortsightedness.

Fingers crossed for the slim chance democrats get their shht together and save this nation.

Republicans were happy to die from COVID and they'll be happy to die from this.

Is there a line republicans won't cross in their fealty to Trump?

The cuts to Medicaid ... could lead to 15,400 deaths due to work reporting requirements or roughly 34,200 deaths from reduced federal funding each year.

Pay no attention to the Republican Party signing the death certificates for 15,400-34,200 people.

It's minorities who are the problems.

Republicans are fkkking morons.

#9: Terrific, the casualty count from the budget cuts will be higher. I don't watch TV, but I read that MSNBC presenter Lawrence O'Donnell asked of the oligarchs: "What did we do to deserve this?" [sic].

#15: How do we know when Trumpf is lying? When his lips are moving.

"...this morning, (Trump) endorsed the House budget resolution, which paves the way for massive cuts to Medicaid."

The official HoR line is "We're not going to cut Medicaid...

And then they leave out the salient part:

...We're going to demand SOMEONE WITH A DIFFERENT NAME cuts it."

And all to borrow A NEW $5 TRILLION, OF WHICH ~$3 TRILLION WILL GO TO THE WORLD'S WEALTHIEST 1/10th of 1%.

#17: The difference between the wealthiest and poorest American will far eclipse the difference between the poorest peasant and Louis XVI in pre-revolutionary France or the poorest serf and Czar Nicholas II in pre-revolutionary Russia. Poverty and inadequate medical care kills. And yet people post stories on Drudge Retort about the NFL draft or watch Bill Maher, Joe Rogaine etc etc: i0.wp.com

I have been thinking this for awhile but more so lately that Dotard seems more and more divorced from the day to day operation of the WH. He does his trained seal stuff in front of the cameras but often seems surprised by the EO he is about to sign or completely oblivious to major news stories central to his administration, such as the four soldiers who died in training in Lithuania. I believe he is nothing more than a quickly deteriorating figurehead and Pee Wee German Miller is the power behind the throne. It's why all of a sudden the place is leaking like a paper condom about power spats, we're hearing about shouting matches between Elong and Bissent and Navarro. Combover Quisling appears more and more detached, medicated, tired, suffering from dementia. There's a great photo of him dead asleep during one of his NKoria style cabinet meetings with his fat maw wide open. I wonder if he was snoring. Reminds me of the Nazi Germany episode from Star Trek TOS "Paterns of Force."
