Sesame Street and Netflix have struck a deal that will see the popular TV show appear on the streaming platform, after US President Donald Trump pulled funding for the free-to-air channel PBS. Netflix said the iconic programme is a "beloved cornerstone of children's media, enchanting young minds and nurturing a love of learning".

Does anyone honestly believe the defunding of NPR and PBS was really an economic dwcision and not just a slap against NPR and PBS for a right wing perception of bias though I'd like to see any real evidence to support that view. Sesame Street is a valuable teaching too for preschool age kids but Republicans don't care anout learning of education and everyone knows it. I can honestly say that the most biased news; i.e, Fox News is never allowed on in my home.

Honestly, NPR and PBS need to go the way of the Dodo bird. As for Netflix "saving" the program from big bad Trump ... Per The Hollywood Reporter ...

Way down on the list of Sesame Streets revenue streams, by the way, is the U.S. government, which ponies up only about 4 percent " less than $5 million a year " in grant money.

Red light robot,

The original mission statement of these state funded agencies includes strict neutrality.

Further, they can continue through other non-taxpayer revenue streams.

I'm behind the curve on knowledge here... Didn't production of new episodes of Sesame Street already get bought up by HBO, and PBS gets the hand me downs now?

How does this funding impact that?

Can you explain what that means?

Is Sesame Street propaganda to you?

What is the point and how does that impact children?

Does Trump's hatred for Sesame Street have anything to do with Ronald Grump?

Sesame Street taught love, compassion, caring, learning, appreciation, acceptance, kindness, knowledge, empathy.

All the things Trump supporters hate.

You can read their posts on this very thread.

Bunch of bitter, angry idiots.
