Russia Closes in on 1 Million Kill or Wounded in Ukraine War
Surpassing that number would be a "stunning" and grisly milestone, according to a report by a prominent Washington think tank.

I'm going to go ahead and give Vlad the Win over Nuttyahoo for total dead and wounded... who did his best, but just can't keep up with these numbers.
He does however merit the Miss Congeniality prize for making sure most of the casualties weren't his own people.

The Russians meeting the one million-mark this summer is sooner than many calculations. Good for the Ukrainians, but bad that they have lost thousands of people.
My calculation of 50,000 Palestinian deaths in Gaza by the end of 2024 was slightly off as the count was 45,541 as of 31 Dec 2024. Then my wife suggested if we include the Lebanese population killed by the IDF, we would reach the 50,000 mark, and thus closer to my prediction. 45,541 Palestinians + 4,047 Lebanese = 49,588 dead Arabs.
International arrest warrants issued by the ICC for war crimes remain active for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. An indictment is merely an allegation. Both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty at an international tribunal to be held at the Hague.

The Ukrainian casualty mark is harder to estimate. The count may be between 40% to 65% of the # estimated for Russia's. Also, casualty counts include KIA, MIA (vaporized?), and badly wounded. I think that the Russian KIA estimate is less than 55% of the total casualty edtimate " still gravely high for a war to hostily annex 4 provinces from a neighboring country.
In conventional military planning,an attacker's casualty rate is generally higher than the defenders, and in Russian military history prior to the Cold War, this Russia relied on "meat wave" assaults until their enrmy was worn down. Once the enemy was worn down, is when Russian atrocities really began. Looting, murder, and mayhem generally marked the style of Russian occupation. After that came expulsion or "disappearance" of the remaining civilian populations, and influxes of Russian speaking colonists then remake Russia's occupied places.
Surprise! This is what's happening in Russian ocvupied Ukraine.

Ultimately, war is the enemy, not each other. If we had a rational world wide legal system, a war of aggression would result in the trials of those who pursued the war. As it is, I am amazed the US in not in a full on shooting war, considering that would make Trump a war time President and set him up for the mid terms to keep having a suck up Congress.

This nonsense about "Russian speaking" is utterly ridiculous; Ukraine was part of the USSR for most of a century and virtually all Ukrainians speak Russian. Russians are dying at such an alarnung rate because they are sent to battle with very little training because their leaders don't care how mant rhey lose. Hopefully, at some point Russians will tire of seeing their sons used as cannon fodder.

This war is the result of media lies and Democrats choosing and installing a long time racist bigoted angry Joe Biden as President.
The man never had the ability or common sense to negotiate anything up front to prevent the war. He never accomplished anything of worth in his half a century as a hack to interest groups and make WAR lobbyists. Auto pens connected to a brain vacuum have consequences.

What would Joe Biden have to offer?

8# It was stated many times that Biden never attempted to negotiate with both sides to prevent the war. Others have insinuated he and the war machine wanted war claiming proxies would wear down Russia.

Snoofy. #13. I don't have detailed negotiation answers. Why didnt Biden just turn the war negotiation job over to Trump and his cabinet. Just as he should have done with the open border fiasco. Too bad for America that elections of bad candidates can have very bad consequences.

See Donald J Trump for further details.
Trumpy will be the example told to school children in history class for what America should never do to itself again.
But first let's just hope we can survive America's FAFO.
Hopefully the last FAFO of its kind.

#4 The Million number doesn't really account for injuries that are sent back to the front. I've seen accounts of amputees getting recycled back into combat Duty involuntarily.
It's also going to be a freakishly High number that got injured and then recycled and then died.
The guys that have recycled more than once are going to have some very terrifying stories if they are not dead yet.

I dunno... Russians are very Promethian in their commitment to warfare... they lost around 27 million fighting Hitler... compared to our .5 million... sooooooooo... don't be too sure about what this means...
It's not their first rodeo of self-sacrifice.
I feel cautious about my optimism...
Frankly... I'm not laughing... as this escalates... because I know most of our kids are too fat to fight or fit into a uniform...
