Gee, what a non-surprise, especially for those of us who said the prior claims didn't pass the smell test.

I'm sure ScottS will be around any minute to apologize.

George Soros got in there and messed with the numbers to make Trump look bad.

No worries, folks! Job numbers will be up, or we'll find someone to make them up (see what I did there).

And what's Trump going to do next month, when they adjust the July numbers down, stop issuing the jobs report altogether? And what happens when the tariffs start to really impact the inflation numbers, stop reporting them as well?

And what's Trump going to do next month, when they adjust the July numbers down, stop issuing the jobs report altogether?

Maybe he will.

But lying through his ass officially about them would be the intermediate step.

Nah; they'll just lie. It's what they're best at.

What is the big deal about 'job growth', anyway?

Before we can imagine it, that will only mean how many AI robots will we need to produce.

I mean, it's not like the Oligarchs are actually planning on keeping dirty nasty stupid humans around that they can't actually own outright and have to pay!

Isn't it enough that they listen to us whining about being replaced now?

Yes same thing happened under Biden, crickets from the crew now crowing. But it always said wait for the revisions.

You can never believe government statistics, it's not about because its good or bad, it's that the revisions are atrocious. So why would you even believe the revisions.

Good luck America you can't even count the number of people working correctly.

I'm seriously considering taking the majority of my Schawb accounts out of the market.

If official economic numbers are gonna be cooked, how can I not?

Would appreciate anything you folks can contribute to that notion.

If they don't report the numbers, they can't go down.

Tariff's leading to inflation?

Or are you just referring to the inflation, which would've been worse under Trump?

Most economists agree the third stimulus wasn't needed, and was a driver of inflation.

Trump wanted a stimulus 42% LARGER, meaning inflation would've been even WORSE under Trump.

Do you agree, or are you using Republican Math?

" why would you even believe the revisions."

They're based on later, more precise information.

Meanwhile, the preliminary numbers are just that. They all go through two updates, each successive one being (ideally) more accurate.

It's why I warned about the preliminary numbers, since they didn't pass the smell test. I've been proven right with this first update. I may be proven wrong ultimately, but at this point it doesn't look like it.

Your post suggests you're unaware of the whole process.

The process where as the numbers for the past couple of months being adjusted after better data has been collected and incorporated into the overall picture has been going on for years, long before the current commissioner of labor statistics has been in that job. In fact, i goes back decades, to at least the 50's, covering both Democratic and Republicans administrations.

It's simple math.

Fire the person reporting the numbers. Hire someone who will gaslight the public.

Gee, what a non-surprise, especially for those of us who said the prior claims didn't pass the smell test.

One only needs to look at the jobs that are currently being offered to "college grads".

One called for a PhD and the salary was $12 per hour.

Another listed an "entry position" that required 3-6 years of experience.

Where are the lies? Be specific. Because to this point, it just seems like you can't handle the truth.

In this case, you accuse me of lying, due to your ignorance on the subject.

In a world where you had honor, I'd be due an apology.
