Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, August 02, 2025

US Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Ranking Member of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI) released a Minority staff report unveiling that Elon Musk's brainchild, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has generated at least $21.7 billion in waste across the federal government between 20 Jan 2025 and 18 July 2025. The report, "The $21.7 Billion Blunder: Analyzing the Waste Generated by DOGE," follows a months-long investigation into Elon Musk and DOGE and is the most comprehensive effort to date to quantify taxpayer dollars squandered by DOGE despite its ostensible goal of eliminating government waste. "This report is a searing indictment of DOGE's false claims. At the very same time that the Trump Administration is cutting health care, nutrition assistance, and emergency services in the name of efficiency' and savings,' they have enabled DOGE's reckless waste of at least $21.7 billion dollars," said Blumenthal. "As my PSI investigation has shown, DOGE was clearly never about efficiency or saving the American taxpayer money. I urge Inspectors General to take up our investigation's findings and initiate a comprehensive review of DOGE's careless actions."

No. F*&^ing. S(*&.

I'm sure the exact dollar amount isn't 100% accurate. Probably inflated for dramatic effect.

But DOGE was never about efficiency, fraud, waste or abuse.

It was about getting the idiots to learn that mantra while accessing massive amounts of citizen data that had been siloed by law and by people who actually gave a s*&^ in their jobs, not matter what worthless cucks like lfthndcuck, fistedp^&&$ and ballwringer believe.

Besides this investigation of DOGE, through the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI) US Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) can hold hearings and investigate Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein. As a minority member though, Senator Blumenthal can only invite witnesses to testify without subpoena power, such as the AUSA and FBI agents who investigated Ghislaine Maxwell (see names in first link).

The Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations is the Committee's chief investigative subcommittee and has the responsibility of studying and investigating the efficiency and economy of operations relating to all branches of the government. The Subcommittee is also tasked with studying and investigating the compliance or noncompliance with rules, regulations and laws, investigating all aspects of crime and lawlessness within the US which have an impact upon or affect the national health, welfare and safety, including syndicated crime, investment fraud schemes, commodity and security fraud, computer fraud, and the use of offshore banking and corporate facilities to carry out criminal objectives.

How long is it going to take for MAGAs to realize that "winning" comes with an unacceptable price?

MMAGAs will go out of business when Trump flat-lines.

It's the Independents who are being courted now.

Watch and see Trump start doing a lot of "good deeds" to win them back into the GOP fold. Trusting, of course, that short attention spans pay off, at lease long enough for Trump to continue his revenge on America for him losing the '20 election.

THAT'S a festering anal-boil he'll never get over.

So no waste actually. The people are getting fired and some dumb judge has tried to halt the actions resulting in this. Why don't they do a report on how much stupid judges are costing the country with orders like

"You have to bring back that criminal gang member you already deported"

But they wrote some awesome code, Scooter, Biff and Stinky got high level government jobs where they can live in their offices, Leon got a bunch of -------' contracts for fat stacks, and the DOGE guys even met some women who had to be nice to them because they are all employees now...

The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers.

Including the six Republican appointees and three Trump appointees on the Supreme Court who told Trump:

"You have to bring back that criminal gang member you already deported"

Aren't you one of those idiots who wave the Constitution around? You should read it sometime.

"$155 million in time costs to require nearly a million employees to send weekly accomplishment emails to the Office of Personnel Management amounting to millions of hours of wasted time."

This one is classic. Sure, all that time lost because the workers had to spend so much time trying to figure out what they did the last week.

The costs that were put up are for the most part severance packages for workers that are not needed. Cheaper to pay them the severance than keep them on.

#13 It's so on message for Republicans to not understand the concept of Opportunity Cost.
