Everything the Trump administration does is blatantly illegal and there's nothing that can be done about it.

The Republican Party is the anti America Party.

Bunch of fascist killing this nation.

Just delaying the crash until they can hopefully come up with a new distraction for the American public to avoid talking and negotiating with the "enemy within".

This is the same thing they did to finance retrofitting Bribe Force One.

POTUS doesn't have any authority to shuffle congressionally allocated funds.

Funny how "constitutional conservatives" are just fine with Trump violating constitutional separation of powers at whim.

So you would rather these funds sit unused when they could pay service men and women? Trump is a better human being than the Democrats holding them hostage.

Trump is a better human being

What would Trump rather be, a human being or have lots of money?

What would Trump rather be, a human being or someone with power?

Donald made his selection many decades ago.

#13 | Posted by Zed at 2025-10-14 07:43 AM | Reply

So, is Donald going to pull this sort of trick every month in order to keep the troops fed?

Seems like a time-limited strategy.

#14 | Posted by Zed at 2025-10-14 07:44 AM | Reply

Isn't it true that by paying the troops in such an unorthodox manner, Trump assures that the government will remain shut and they can't be paid like they should be?

This whole dance Trump is doing around military pay stinks of desperation, by the way.

His house is on fire. It's going to take more than a few buckets to put it out.

Starving the troops in order to keep the Epstein Files hidden is exactly the sort of thing that this sociopath, Donald Trump, would do.

It is occurring to me that there is something worse in those files than Trump simply having sex with kids.

What that could be, I don't know. Even my cynical imagination fails. But perhaps bad enough to make Trump worry about actual, metaphysical damnation.

As he has been.

Id rather the constitution be followed and out country function properly as it has been over two centuries.

Trump is s^*%. So are you.

You'll have to point out the section of the constitution that says excess funds sitting unused in one account can't be transfered to another account to pay the military during a Schumer Shut-down.

It is unconstitutional for the President to use money appropriated by Congress for one purpose for a different purpose because it violates the constitutional separation of powers, specifically Congress's "power of the purse". The Constitution gives Congress the exclusive authority to control federal spending, and the President is required to faithfully execute the laws as written, not rewrite them by reallocating funds.

The Appropriations Clause (Article I, Section 9): The U.S. Constitution is explicit about how money is to be spent: "No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law". This clause establishes that Congress must first pass legislation to approve and specify how federal money is spent. The President cannot access or spend public money without this authorization.

Thank you for the opportunity to teach you about our wonderful constitution. It's very cool. You should read it sometime!

I don't really care, as long as the money is returned to where it was borrowed from when the shutdown is over.

Also, if they're going to pay anybody who's working, they should pay everybody who's working.
