Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, November 24, 2025

Guardian editorial: The Kremlin has barely lifted a finger in recent days. It hasn't needed to. The 28-point US-Russia peace proposal, leaked to the media last week, has thrown Washington, Kyiv and European capitals into disarray, creating precisely the conditions Vladimir Putin has long sought: a negotiating table sharply tilted in the Russian president's favour, with Ukraine cornered into weighing terms it cannot accept and the threat of losing its most important ally hanging over its head.

This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1 ...

Well, Trump certainly deserves that Noballs Peace Prize now.

"preparing the way for a larger war in the future."

How obvious can it be?

Putin hasn't given up on his own legacy to be the leader who restores the U.S.S.R. to its former power and glory. He'd really like to have all of Eastern Europe if he could.

Question being, will Lewzer give him the firepower he needs to make it happen?

Wow--whatever Vlad has on Der Dotard must be much worse than anyone has imagined. How else could this orange fool be lead by the nose by such a small man?

In the meantime, this whole "Art of the Deal" nonsense is looking more and more like the poorly-drawn graphic novel it actually is. Trump is the worst negotiator I've seen since the second grade...

We all know you are cheering for this war to go on, you had tears in your eyes when the Gaza peace plan came together.
This deal was brokered with the Europeans for a change. Vlad is a loose cannon as we all know but hopefully this one works. If it does, invest in Kleenex, the left is going to need a lot of it.

"Trump Envoy Advised Russia on Putin Call, Ukraine Deal: Report

United States Special Envoy Steve Witkoff advised Russian officials on how to pitch a Ukraine peace deal to President Donald Trump, according to an audio recording reported by Bloomberg.

Late in October, Witkoff met with Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev, an economic adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin, in Florida to discuss and begin drafting an agreement that would prioritize Russian interests.

In a conversation reviewed by Bloomberg, Witkoff is heard telling Yuri Ushakov, Putin's most senior foreign-policy adviser, "We put a 20-point Trump plan together that was 20 points for peace, and I'm thinking maybe we do the same thing with you."

Saw a fascinating billboard on my annual, automotive Thanksgiving journey to be with family:

If you are Christian and pro-life, pray for the restoration of SNAP benefits

I would ask Major DEI Boaz his input on this because ...

...the billboard was on a highway in North Carolina.

Perhaps Major DEI Boaz is talking to the entirely wrong people in North Carolina.

Perhaps.

@#2 ... How obvious can it be? ...

It has been quite obvious.

I noted it back months ago when Pres Trump gave in to Pres Putin's demands, with nothing in return for those ~gifts~ that Pres Trump gave to Pres Putin.

That's not negotiating. That's not deal-making.

That is surrender, plain and simple, imo.

Back then I noted Pres Trump saying that Ukraine will never be able to join NATO.

To me, that, and that alone, was an indication that Pres Trump cares little about Ukraine sovereignty. That he just wants a deal, no matter what the longer term effect of that deal is upon the Ukrainian people and their country.

Pres Trump wants the transactional deal.
