Donald Trump has doubled down on his threats to acquire Greenland, saying the US is "going to do something [there] whether they like it or not".

GREENLANDERS: "Trump, if you're watching this-- don't come. Don't buy Greenland. Greenland is not for sale." (From Sky News) Again: Putin wants NATO to evaporate. Too much *analysis* ignores the potential of his hand in making Trump do this to hurt our interests and help his.

"Meanwhile, Greenlanders have repeatedly expressed their refusal to be part of the US, with 85% of the population rejecting the idea, according to a 2025 poll. Polling shows only 7% of Americans support the idea of a US military invasion of the territory."

Well, to be fair, there are millions more Epstein Files to Distract from, so this makes perfect sense.

Especially for the 'no more wars!' Peace President that Trumpers voted for.

"If we don't do it, Russia or China will take over Greenland. And we're not going to have Russia or China as a neighbor."

"They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."

GOP VPOTUS Candidate Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska (ABC News, 11 September 2008)

It makes sense after all. Denmark really does absolutely nothing there, and their only claim is stumbling ashore.
Offer each citizen 100K then take a vote.
Otherwise Ro-sham-bo challenge, Big T vs Pastry King.

@#8 ... Offer each citizen 100K then take a vote. ...

So, the only way to assure Pres trump's whims regarding Greenland is to purchase votes?

That leads me to ask ...

Does Pres Trump think that everyone's actions are so easily purchased as his Oval Office actions seem to be?

@#7 ... Whoops ...

Yeah. Looks like just more of its usual disruption-attempting prevarications.

Epstein...one wonders if this increasing war mongering from MAGA and Trump is just his way of forcing America to stop looking at the Epstein files. And if you ever want to see what an illegal order, given to American troops looks like, look at the orders when and if Trump orders America to invade and occupy a NATO allied land.
Any officer who follows those orders is liable under military law.

Isn't that how Musk helped Trump got elected? it's called buying votes.

The discussion about a Greenland invasion has gotten away from the basic reason Trump claims requires it. The Danish and the Greendan governments have both giventhe U.S. unfettered access to the island for many decades even allowing us to place nuclear weapons on Greenland and permanent bases there with long range bombers capable of reaching Russia so what is this sudden need to occupy the island and control it? Trump's stupid claim that it is necessary for national dfefense is obviously just his attempt to enhance his tough guy image as the Commander in Chief of "the most powerful military in the world" as he claims at every opportunity almost as if he is daring other nations to test that claim; personally, I don't want to test any psochopathic dictator, like Putin, with nuclear weapons. I'm wondering if Donald Trump has heard his nickname of "Putin's Bitch" too many times and is just trying to grab headlines by threatening one of our allies? This entire Greenland controversy has nothing to do with national security and much more to do with Trump's fragile ego!
