It happened on their son's birthday, police say. According to the court documents, the couple went to bed shortly after midnight after singing happy birthday to Clayton.

Clayton told investigators that he had a good day with his parents. "When his dad told him he needed to go to bed, he got mad at him," the documents stated.

OK, but did the kid get his Nintendo back? I need closure!

I'd tell Dad to keep his guns locked up and away from 11 year olds.

But. Dad is dead.

And the Kid now has to live with what he has done for the rest of his life.

There will be no closure.

An estimated 40.7% of adults in Pennsylvania have guns in their homes.

Pennsylvania Firearm Licenses in 2021: 348,167

In an average year, 1,806 people die and 4,020 are wounded by guns in the Keystone State. Those wounded must pay for their medical bills if they are under- or uninsured.

Nationally, every eleven minutes someone in the US is killed with a firearm, either by an assailant, by accident, or by committing suicide.

Who needs ISIS, al-Qaida, the Taliban, or Russia to kill Americans every year when we do a fine job of it for them?

But he did! In his gun safe, where he also sometimes stored the Nintendo.

So the kid looked for his Nintendo there after getting the key from Dad's drawer. Didn't find the Nintendo, but did find the gun.

Which I guess goes to show that "when the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail."

lol

You serious?

I did not see that in the story. Guess I stopped reading when all the ads covered the screen.

That would be quite ironic.

Dad learned an important lesson that day.

Don't bring a Nintendo to a gun fight.

I dunno about all the hate here. The couple adopted an autistic kid and tried to get him help, but the school district refused.

This story is painful to read. Sounds like two parents tried to do right by an already damaged kid. Heartbreaking.

I hope they give that kid life without parole. Rotten little bastard.

"I dunno about all the hate here."

Just pretend he lived in Gaza.
Then it will make sense to you.

"an autistic kid

Basically just a euphemism for saying he's a sociopath/psychopath.

The strongest argument against the 2A is your average gun owner.

#15 The 2nd Amendment has done nothing positive for the USA.

Absolutely nothing, whatsoever.

It's enriched Republican politicians through the NRA and bought Judges to further not only Gun Deaths, but the all the Elitist Project25 policies and the nightmare that is DJT.

Sad story. Fact is that the most dangerous gun to you and those you live with is any gun you keep in your own home. People who live in homes with guns are more likely to die by gun death than those who live in homes without guns.

@#18 ... Fact is that the most dangerous gun to you and those you live with is any gun you keep in your own home. People who live in homes with guns are more likely to die by gun death than those who live in homes without guns. ...

Stated differently...

Why buy a gun if the intent is not to use it?

And I do acknowledge that there are collectors of guns, who may purchase guns because they get a ------ when they do so. A friend of mine was in that category.

But what percentage of gun purchasers are those collectors?

Why buy a gun if the intent is not to use it?

For the vast vast majority of people who buy guns, that intended use is self-defense.

Where most go astray is they are akin to being house poor - they buy into the brand queen influencers, buy something that's overpriced or at the max of their budget and is way more than they need and simply stop there, never spending another cent on training, proper storage ect. For far too many, having the gun seems to be as far as they think they need to go to be prepared and competent with a deadly weapon.

I can't tell you how many times I've walked out of a range because a bunch of goobers show up in the lane next to me, uncase a tacticool AR (usually AR pistol) decked out with light, optics, brown furniture on a black frame with punisher skull magazines and start peppering a target 10 yards in front of them as fast as they can pull the trigger. The only positive I've ever found in it is that those are likely the idiots who think MAGA is going to go to war against Libruls and that they'll be a key player in them "winning."
