In the Fifties, when I was in Grade Five, a neighborhood friend died in his iron lung at a local hospital. I got the vaccine and survived.

"The entire Trump project - and to a larger extent the MAGA movement"is at its core an exercise in collective delusion. The whole enterprise rests on Americans rejecting the very facts staring them in the face."

This monsters in the federal government are following Project 2025. Project 2025, which this administration is following, does not have the need of poor people. Even the middle class is not really needed in 'their' future with AI and robots doing the work instead of citizens. Thus, they have no problem gutting anything to help the poor and middle class even survive into the future. Read the thing.

No, it's not. Otherwise, the eradication project would be declared successful.

There are a few dozen wild polio cases a year in places like Pakistan and Afghanistan.

For those ragging on his statement, he's correct about the vaccine caused polio. In many places, the live attenuated poliovirus vaccine is used because of easier logistical considerations and induction of more complete immunity. An unfortunate side effect is that vaccinated people will shed virus for weeks after vaccination and it reverts to wildtype Poliovirus Type II, which can cause disease in people who are unvaccinated or who had a poor response to the vaccine.
